Maybe when Hassan cooks food later, he must have his mother's words in his heart to make so much delicious food.
Sure enough, even when Dad encountered the choice, he always had a silent dialogue with his mother in his heart. Although the character of mother only appeared for a while, it ran through the whole movie like food.
At the end, when Hassan returned to town and picked up the sea urchin again, I was moved to tears. Food does have its soul, but perhaps this soul is infused by humans.
He must have remembered the soul that his mother gave to the sea urchin, and to appreciate this soul, he must be by his lover's side. So even though he became famous in Paris, he could not be happy. The place where he had love was in the small town, and the place where he could make delicious food happily was in the small town.
So sometimes I feel that the plot of the movie does not need to be too gorgeous. The focus of the characters has love and soul, which can make people move, even if the scene is just two houses with different styles on the same road.
The pictures and colors give the audience warmth, and the food even more.
