Bergman's Favorite Movies

Ingmar Bergman said that "Ghost Carriage" was his favorite movie, and he was shocked by the movie's God cut after watching it for about 20 minutes. The second film after "The World", because of the cutting, made me stunned. In an era when there was no technology to support special effects, they created transparent people and things. Even transitions from the earliest montages were used in the movie.

The storytelling method of the film was also considered novel at that time. It was not the traditional single Gushi line, which unfolded in chronological order, but mixed with stories in the story. A lot of flashbacks were used. method.

Speaking of something that is not very relevant to the movie, maybe because I am not a Christian myself, so I don't really understand Sister Edith's Christlike love for David Holm. Always thinking about saving him, and being obsessed with it, makes me feel a little sick. Consciously love those who need help, feel that I can save them, should save them, and have an obligation to them, is this compensation for what I did not do when I was young? Even the trust in David almost ruined the lives of David's wife and children. Although the movie has a good ending for David, it may not be so easy in real life.

There is a line in the movie that says, I hope that my soul will mature before it is harvested by God, which is almost everyone's expectation.

CC version. The soundtrack is so good that after watching it, I replayed a few more episodes without looking at the pictures, just listening to the music. In the tidbits that come with the CC version, Bergman talks about Sjostrom, exactly like a man who has gained a lot of wisdom and is about to grow old, talking about his father.

Give up the body and soul, and use all love to change evil deeds. The idea is so lofty, it is touching and emotional. Although it is a silent film, it does not lose its color at all. There are three types of post-coloring, which are clearly divided into indoor warm (yellow) color, outdoor cool (blue) color, and recalling red. The film uses early overprinting techniques, and the actors perform to the core.
