The Brothers Grimm

Well, this movie is a dark fairy tale, with all kinds of blood and disgust. It is recommended not to show it to children. It has absolutely no innocence and beauty of "Grimm's Fairy Tales".

The film begins with the Green family. The younger sister was seriously ill in bed, and the elder brother Will Green and his mother were at home waiting for the younger brother Jack Green to return from selling cattle and take money to treat the younger sister. But when his younger brother came back, he found that he gave the cow to a stranger in exchange for a handful of "magic beans". Brother is getting pissed...

The film opens...
Matt Damon plays the adult brother Will Green and Heath Legere plays the younger brother Jack Green. (For the sake of brevity, they will be called older brother and younger brother.) Together with two other people with really worrying IQs, they use various technologies (in fact, I think they believe in science more, and use various people's knowledge about the unknown fear.). In a word, the Brothers Grimm squad has been deceived everywhere, and their "exorcism" business is also doing well. When watching a movie, although sometimes my younger brother looks stupid, it seems that many demon stories are imagined by him or he has heard and collected, and then let people act and scare people. All kinds of strange things that circulated in the traveled places were also recorded by the younger brother. Watching him write and write with a thick notebook, he is really obsessed with magical stories. It is no wonder that when he was a child, he believed that "magic beans" could cure his sister's illness.

While they're bluffing around, the film's footage shows a supposedly cursed enchanted forest in the Marbaden area.

The film is interspersed with various "elements" of the familiar stories in "Grimm's Fairy Tales" (it can only be said to be "elements", because the story is not fully displayed, and this is still a dark version), such as "Little Red Riding Hood", "Hans and Greta", "Cinderella", "Rapunzel" ("Rapunzel") and many more.

Later, the two brothers were arrested by a French general (forgot to mention, the film shows the two brothers living in Napoleon-occupied Germany), because they suspected that the missing girls in the Marbaden area were related to them. I have to say a scene, really disgusting! ! ! It was the super dark dish served by the general's servant - Bavarian blood sausage with sauerkraut. (Looks like something pulled out...)

Anyway, under the coercion, the two brothers went to the forest that was said to be cursed, to find out the truth of the girl's disappearance, and to find the missing girl.

After getting to that place, they need to find someone to bring into the forest. Then we saw the person who was considered cursed by the villagers - Angelica. And then there's this disgusting and bloody scene...then it's even more disgusting after that.

After several investigations and all kinds of weird things happened, the Green team finally believed that there was magic. The truth is: "The Devil" was once a queen, with a peerless face (Monica Bellucci's queen is really beautiful!), but also very conceited and selfish. She has a certain amount of magic and immortality, but cannot stay young forever. So she needed the blood of twelve young girls to complete the magical rebirth on the night of the lunar eclipse and restore her beauty and youth.
After a hard and dangerous fight, a group of them finally defeated the beautiful "demon head" who lived on the high tower and retrieved the missing girl. From then on, the people there lived happily together...

Although there are some special effects It looks like a "fifty cents special effect" now, but it's okay.

But I really can't stand there are really a lot of disgusting and dark scenes here, in addition to the above, there are: for

example: a pile of crow feces falling on the face... (Even if I know it's acting, I still feel that Nausea)

For example, licking a toad...

For example: a face smeared with mud, a face without eyes and mouth...

For example: dense insects...

Also: the terrifying "Devil Head"...

Terrible, ruining childhood! I need to see something fresh to wash my eyes.

This movie is not very interesting. If you are interested in scary and disgusting movies, you can watch it occasionally (I also saw it on Weibo, and I watched it when I was bored). Full of the routines of "Grimm's Fairy Tales", there is nothing new. There is nothing interesting about the lines, except for the sentence "The Devil" said:

The reality is scarier than the story.

The Brothers Grimm quotes

  • Hidlick: How comes he gets to do the monsters, I end up playin' the girlie ghosts?

Will Grimm: Because you, my friend, have talent. You've got range.

Bunst: And what do I have, Will?

Will Grimm: You, my handsome friend, you have heart.

Jacob Grimm: And you, Will, have enough bullshit to fill the Palace of Versailles.

  • Woodsman: Angelika, look. You see that window, way, way up high? Many centuries ago, that's where the Queen lived. She was treasured by all of Europe, famed for her incredible beauty, but also vain and selfish. Her world was her own reflection. It was on the Queen's wedding day that the plague arrived. The King was the first to die. His bride built a tower. She locked herself away, safe from the horrors below. But what she forgot, was that plague is carried on the winds. When she first fell sick, and her gorgeous flesh began to rot away, they say you could hear her screams across the oceans. My princess isn't afraid, is she? It's just an old story. Papa's here to protect you.
