Tribute to traditional artists

I really admire these stop motion animations. The director's life experience is awesome. For so many years, the ghost mother, the box monster, and the psychic boy have all been imaginative. Before I paid attention to the director of this film, I thought they were all Tim Burton films. It's not easy. The production cycle of a movie is longer than that of CG. Favored by major awards. It is the fourth full-length novel, and the picture quality and technology are higher. But it feels so bad, the monkey becomes your mother for a while, the beetle becomes your dad for a while, and the grandfather becomes the monster in the Avengers for a while. Can't watch it anymore. You all said yes, how can I say yes without trying. But it's really not good, it's a bit of a nonsense. The front is ok, the back is more and more chaotic. After watching it, I have no recollection. It just feels that the staff is very hard, not easy. Pay tribute to the old artists of traditional culture.

Skill 10 Creativity 8.5 Plot 7 With rapid prototyping and 3d printing technology, stop-motion animations no longer need to be colored one by one, so Kubo has 11,007 mouth movements... awesome! The action scenes are very clean and tidy (some of them are even a little scary), but the emotional part looks quite satisfactory and the waves part is also really stunning without relying on CG!

The story is not the forte. The film represents the current highest level of stop-motion animation. It is the pinnacle of being able to make it. It can be seen that from the scenes to the characters, they are deeply inspired by Japanese culture. A few shots show the greatness of different paper crafts, just like the survival of the cracks in the CG, it is the persistence and dedication to traditional craftsmanship. The overtone of the title refers to the parents, and the protagonist's method of defeating the enemy is also love and tolerance. The concept of "home" is self-evident.

Kubo and the Two Strings quotes

  • Monkey: [regarding Hanzo] In recognizing his compassion, I recognized my own.

  • [first lines]

Kubo: [narrating] If you must blink, do it now. Pay careful attention to everything you see and hear, no matter how unusual it may seem. And please be warned: If you fidget, if you look away, if you forget any part of what I tell you - even for an instant - then our hero will surely perish.

    [baby crying]

Kubo: His name is Kubo. His grandfather stole something from him. And that really is the least of it.
