Obscure moral kidnapping ending

Justice and evil, whether in reality or in film and television works, will be characterized by the good and evil of the person's starting point. However, history is written by the victors, and the old butler's behavior has a clever and grand reason for everything. Although he killed his father, from the point of view of the starting point, Medici even needs to thank the housekeeper's values and thank him for not killing his mistress and the child in his womb. This ending seems to be happy, but it is too thin and simple. For such a historical drama, the rise and fall hang on the line, and this line turns out to be the question of how this short-sighted old man views good and evil. Do some bad things to make some good things happen, everyone in the show does that, but the ending is very different.
