"About Yili" tells the story of several young Iranian couples who went on a trip to the sea and were in distress. They are all ordinary people in life, with different troubles and different personalities, but they respect each other and abide by morals. When misfortune occurs, they also try not to hurt others, but they don't have the courage to take responsibility.
They are typical urbanites, individuals who benefit from their own family, keep a certain distance from other families, do not want to cause trouble to others, and do not want to be implicated in other people's troubles.
The director devised a subtle accident, and it was impossible to determine whether Eli drowned in the sea or left without saying goodbye. When Yili's companions think that the former is more likely, they will feel guilty; and when the latter is more likely, they will feel that Yili's actions are reckless, causing the people around her to worry.
When Yili disappeared, a rescue boat was dispatched from the sea, but it didn't take long to return without success. Their initial statement was that the search and rescue had to be stopped because the wind and waves were too strong, and the search and rescue team might also be swept away by the waves. But when Yili's friends were entangled, one of the rescuers told the truth that they couldn't accept. The time was too long, and they would definitely not survive. If they wanted a body, they would find it by themselves on the beach at night or the next day. . In fact, this is the real reason to stop the search and rescue. It is impossible for people to survive, and there is no need to continue. This is also true in reality. Once a major disaster or accident occurs, the search and rescue work will often continue after the possible survival time has passed, but in fact, the people who actually participated in the search and rescue have already given up. The search and rescue work at this time was nothing but a kind of sympathy and comfort for the families of the victims.
The last thing Yili did before she died was flying a kite. This monotonous scene took a long time. I didn't have the patience to watch it and almost skipped it. In the end, what we heard was that Yili handed over the flying kite to the children beside her, and the movie did not explain how she died. The reason for the death, or whether it was killed, has become the biggest suspense of the movie. Just because Yili's life came to an abrupt end, when I watched the scene of flying a kite for the second time, it didn't feel long at all, I just hoped that she could enjoy the joy of flying freely like a kite.
In the first shot of the film, a group of young people drove to the seaside. When the car passed through the dark tunnel, they couldn't hold back their excitement, and they put their heads out of the car window and shouted wantonly, releasing their excess excitement. However, the arrangement of fate did not give them the slightest sign. They did not know that God would take away their lives so cruelly, nor did they think that at a critical juncture in life, their various difficult choices ended up being wise and prudent.
