I didn't choose the F life, it was the F life that chose me

FUCK, that is, Finding, Useful, Chaos and Kind.
To discover the world, to be a useful person, even if the surrounding is chaotic, you must not forget your original intention and live well.

When it comes to New Zealand, everyone's impression should still be the mountains and rivers in the Lord of the Rings, which are magnificent and psychedelic.
Indeed, in this country with more sheep than people and a forest coverage rate of 28% (18% in China), traveling on a shuttle bus along the way, looking out the window, it is all scenery.

A country so close to nature gave birth to this "The Hunt for the Savages".
Come see the poster.

New Zealand native version of the poster.
The one on the left is extremely retro and classic, explaining the main actors and their outfits.
The one on the right highlights the chubby Maori in the film, with firm eyes and wild mud marks on his face.
In a word, "hard".

One of the most common words New Zealanders say is "tough".
The head that was hit while playing rugby broke blood, it was tough.
Going to school several degrees below zero in winter is shivering in shorts, it's tough.
Fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing, and winter swimming continue to challenge the limits, and are tough.

Take a look at the American version of the poster.

Ignoring the "Wild Boar Brother" who has very few scenes in the film, the
poster is full of the softness of looking up at the sky at 45° and hoping to turn into a river against the current.
That is, the soft in New Zealand's tough, that is, "no matter how fierce a tough guy is, he has a soft corner in his heart".

Personally, I prefer this poster from the United States. The sky is blue, the purity of New Zealand is endless, and the eyes of the two male protagonists are alert and looking forward to the road ahead.

Throughout the film, the director divides the story into many interesting segments in the form of chapters.
Different from simply repeating the actor's lines, it condenses a cold and humorous style.

At the beginning, Maori Xiaopang (referred to as Xiaopang) was taken to a family as soon as he appeared on the stage, ready to accept the fate of being taken in.
The aunt of the orphanage summed up Xiaopang's "resume" in a few words.

Fortunately, the hostess has a heart of compassion and compassion for all sentient beings, and hopes to use actions to influence Xiaopang.
At the same time, her boyfriend (not sure if it is her husband, New Zealand's unmarried cohabitation will never get married, there are many people), that is, another uncle of the male protagonist, came out with a cool sentence.

In just a few days in the new home, Xiaopang obviously felt at a loss.
When I asked the uncle if he had any work to do, the answer he got was not so friendly.

New Zealand is arguably one of the closest to the original.
Many people who work in cities have their own farmland in the suburbs, and like to drive an hour back to the countryside to sleep after work (there is almost no traffic jam, so this one hour drive is not the one hour and one kilometer in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou);

Just when I thought I could watch a "kind family probation problem children's drama", at 18 minutes, the hostess rushed to the street.

Seeing the uncle's constipation like "What did you say, Father WTF" at the funeral, and the chubby chubby folded arms that he didn't want to accept, it was the first time for the two male protagonists to get along with each other.

As the saying goes, one monk has water to drink, and two monks carry water to drink.
This movie also fully reflects the style of a bachelor who is free and easy, and two bachelors try Momo's style.
Xiaopang even started to introduce software such as Line and Arrow to his uncle. (don't ask how I know that)

Forgive Xiao Pang's uninhibited indulgence and love of freedom all his life, even if he will fall down one day.
So the chubby burned the dummy disguised as himself and went to the forest to explore.

After a few days of running out of bread,
Xiaopang was not surprised and lost his way.

Fortunately, the uncle appeared in time, but there was a serious generation gap in the communication between the two,
and the uncle's biggest secret was discovered by Xiaopang, that is... illiterate.

The little fat who was a professional pit teammate really made the uncle twist his feet and couldn't move.
So Xiaopang took responsibility (although he didn't do very well, the dance was very enchanting).
The two gradually approached each other in a quiet relationship.
The "old and young couples" that are used in the movie routines really move people, not because the two people are not used to it at first, and then they change each other.

Rather, does it resonate with the audience and see the sense of substitution of the other party from the perspective of one party?

Finally came to a rest stop, met three soy sauce ALICE. (referred to as the three donkeys)
Xiaopang's remarks scared the three donkeys stupid, and shouted that the uncle is a pervert. (Little fat, you talk about hunting so fresh and refined, do your parents know?)

So Donkey, who thought he represented justice, went to work with the uncle. The uncle grabbed Donkey in front and blocked Donkeys and Donkeys in the back. Seeing that he couldn't support it, Xiao Chuan pulled the trigger.
After a near-miss journey, the two confided in the room.
Xiaopang likes to write poetry, and wrote a poem about the uncle. Here, the uncle affirmed Xiaopang for the first time.

The two have been wandering in the jungle for five months, and Xiaopang is still not thin....
The rumors in the outside world have intensified, describing the uncle as a "kidnapping, pedophile".

The aunt of the orphanage sent out a large number of police forces with great momentum.
As the villain who can be said to be the second villain with Donkey Dawei in the film, she insisted that "everything is for the children" from beginning to end.
But she didn't do that, she didn't care what the child was thinking at all, she wanted to kick him away smoothly.

After the chase scene, there are even armored vehicles.
Near the end, desert, dust and smoke, the two faced thousands of troops.
Accelerate, start, and break through the siege in pursuit.
Xiaopang also came up with the golden sentence of this work on his own.

After the wind clamor, the uncle was imprisoned for a period of time and lived in a nursing home, while Xiaopang also went to live in a new family.
When we met again, Xiaopang suggested that he wanted to go to the jungle with his uncle to explore and look for endangered birds.
The uncle began to refuse because of his affection. Later, he felt that the nursing homes were all elderly people (you are too), and wanted to go to activities.

So the two happily set foot in the jungle again,
but this time their equipment was better, and they would have a friendly chat.

It can be seen that the director wants to make this "for freedom" story as interesting and nonsensical as possible.
It reflects the modern society, everyone's neglect of children's inner world, and their yearning for a world that seems out of place.
Who said a fat man can't go on an adventure in the jungle and run in the sunset.
Who says the elderly have to wait quietly in a nursing home to die.
Who says poetry can't simply say things well.
Who said our world must be framed like this.
I didn't choose the F life, it was the F life that chose me.
Even if it chooses me, then I have to live a wonderful life like F.

To put it simply, one thing is the biggest feature of this film.
The last Easter egg comes from the other two protagonists, "Earth Dam" and "Zach", the hunting assistants of Chubby and Uncle.
Earth Dam is young and curious about things, Zach is brave, but unfortunately he is heroic in the face of wild boars.

The director thoughtfully wrote the original names of the two puppies in the subtitle introduction.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople quotes

  • Ricky Baker: Shit just got real! Back up, homies, and let go of my uncle!

  • Ricky Baker: We'll just tell them you were looking after me.

Hec: Doesn't matter what you tell them, they won't believe you. They'll think I made you do it. I'm not going back to jail, I'm better off up here. This is no place for a kid. You're gonna have to go back, Ricky.

    Ricky Baker: To what?

    Hec: To the welfare people.

    Ricky Baker: No!

    Hec: They'll look after you.

    Ricky Baker: No, they won't!

Hec: They'll find you another home, you'll be fine.

Ricky Baker: You're not listening! Nobody listens! There's no more homes, just juvy!

    Hec: What's juvy?

Ricky Baker: Juvenile prison. They don't care about kids like me, they just keep moving us around until something happens like... Amber.

Hec: Oh no, bugger then. Okay, okay. We're in about a million hectares of bush, that's big, it's big enough to hide in for a while, anyway.

Ricky Baker: Good enough for me.

Hec: But we're heading into winter. It's gonna be rough, no huts, no tents, real bush life. Can you handle that?

Ricky Baker: I can handle it.

Hec: Yeah. And if you play up, I dump you.

    Ricky Baker: Okay, Uncle.

Hec: I'd still prefer if you don't call me Uncle.

Ricky Baker: Okay, Hec. So what do we do now?

    Hec: We run.

[They run for a few seconds, then stop out of breathe]

Hec: Wait, wait wait. Maybe we don't need to run.

Ricky Baker: Oh yeah, let's just fast walk.
