Weak black comedy - all resistance is history

The whole film is about creating a sense of humor in a black comedy, but it's nothing more than that. The title may not match the content at all. I was talking nonsense after drinking, and I had eyes that I couldn’t open. I really didn’t know what to write and what to express. I wrote down what I thought. maybe next time. From the plot, scene setting, character dressing, to the background music, they are all trying to make a quick success in rendering a sense of black humor. I may have said too much, but the real problem is that I may have too high expectations for this work before watching it. . Or maybe just after drinking some wine, the whole person started to criticize by the strength of the wine. The last possibility is that this is a good work, but I don't like it because it is so well done, because the subject matter itself is not what I like. Most of this old-fashioned fantasy movie has a third person telling the story at the beginning and the end. The beginning is unreasonable, and the ending of the happy ending~~ Short and long process. Therefore, shot editing is one of the elements of the success of the film, and this one is no exception. Although the film is classified as a drama, it is by no means within the category of light comedy. It is absolutely impossible for people to watch it without thinking at all. Wonderful enough to make people laugh... On the contrary, many ideas are frozen in one picture after another, and they are expressed in endless levels. It can be used as an example. Matilda secretly "fixed" Miss Trunchbull at Miss Trunchbull's house. The editing of the shots and the rendering of the emotional atmosphere are a bit Hitchcock-like, but they are always from a child. From the perspective, it does not make people think that they are watching HorrorMovie... The film wants to express from his screenwriter, the dialogue of the characters is very clear. Daddy says "what do u wanna a book for?" Matilda is like "to read", and her daddy is like "why would you want to read when you got TV set sitting right in front of you?" Many social problems are exaggerated in the film, but this is what they want to express---with technology revolution appear, people life styles have been changed, and yet still not end; more important, bad always will be criticized by the good~ Finally, let's talk about the plot. From the beginning to the end, the division of the plot is very appropriate, not procrastination, and every point is very accurately expressed. I just want to say that the editing in the later stage is in place. But if all of them are put together, it will make people feel "aesthetic fatigue". I feel more and more boring after seeing it. Maybe the subject matter is no longer so novel today, and the director's black comedy, I want to catch it. The point of live expression is too much, but it can appear weak. A good movie overall, 1996, definitely a good movie back then! still a good movie today, but not that much attention. It became history.

Matilda wants to see Moby Dick before going to bed. "The rat's heart beat is six hundred and fifty beats per second, which means it's so fast that you can't hear the throbbing, it must sound like a humming. hum." "But even so, you wouldn't expect such a fast heartbeat for an animal that moves so slowly."

A fantastic and absurd comedy movie, it looks like a fairy tale, but it contains profound thoughts and endless comfort. Children and adults are inherently equal, and no one is arrogant and superior to the other. The ending is good, and I hope that every child can be treated tenderly.

Matilda quotes

  • Matilda: [to the FBI agents, as they rummage through her parents' garage looking for car parts] You two men are going to be in a lot of trouble very soon.

FBI Agent Bill: [to his partner] It's the female minor.

FBI Agent Bob: Aren't you supposed to be in school, young lady?

Matilda: I really hope you have a search warrant. According to a constitutional law book that I read in the library, if you don't have one, you could lose your job or even go to federal prison.

FBI Agent Bob: It's your father who's going to federal prison. And you know where you'll end up?

FBI Agent Bill: In a federal orphanage.

FBI Agent Bob: If you cooperate, we'll make sure it's a nice orphanage.

FBI Agent Bill: The kind with food... and teeny-weeny cockroaches.

FBI Agent Bob: What do you say?

Matilda: There's another crime in the making, your car is about to run a stop sign.

  • [Miss Trunchbull has accused Matilda of going into her house]

Jenny: Miss Trunchbull, I was the one who was at your house last night, and I think...

Agatha Trunchbull: [grabbing and clenching Miss Honey's wrist very tightly in her fist] I broke your arm once before; I can do it again, Jenny.

Jenny: [suddenly mad, she briskly releases her arm from Miss Trunchbull's grip with her free hand] I am *not* seven years old anymore, Aunt Trunchbull!

    [the class gasps]

    Agatha Trunchbull: Shut your mouths!
