"Double Indemnity" - Personal opinion

I've always liked old movies, especially those in perfect black and white that are full of amazing detail.
Just after watching "Double Indemnity" in 1944, I told who the murderer was at the beginning of the film, as if the suspense was much less? No, not so. When watching this movie, I still feel worried about the "Male and Female Partnership Murder Group", as if you were an accomplice.
If the film is just about a murder, I don't think it will become a classic film noir. It more reflects human nature, greed and conscience. The male and female protagonists seem to be attracted to each other and come together, but in fact it is their greed and inner restlessness. They embark on a train that ends at the grave, which is full of desire, tension, anxiety, suspicion, and betrayal. This may be the thrill sought by the dark side of people's characters.
Barbara is really beautiful. In the film, her husband was killed by her lover. She drove calmly, with tears in her eyes, excitement in her eyes, and the corners of her mouth rose slightly. That suffocating married life has spilled oil, and maybe it's the whole thing, and finally the next step is to find the impulsive little boyfriend of the stepdaughter to solve this person who is fighting for property with him, and then kick him out Lover, enjoy the compensation and then enjoy life. For her own sake, she can use her smart brain and vicious heart to send all the obstacles on the way to her goal to the west. But in the end, the organs were exhausted, and the feelings were still omitted. Her final confession to Naf, I am more inclined to be her sincerity, but she died under his gun and fell in his arms. A hateful and pitiful woman.
Naif, a mature and steady man. As an insurance salesperson, I knew the purpose of the heroine in a few words, and left angrily. It took me an afternoon to forget the heroine, but I couldn't. I don't think he's trying to forget people, but to ask for that terrible desire in his heart. A man in his 30s who sees all kinds of life because of the nature of his work, I don't believe he will be sincere to a married woman who has only seen one side, that is desire. As a worker who has been in the industry for many years and has solid professional knowledge, I want to challenge whether I can create a seamless insurance fraud case. The appearance of the heroine is a platform to show the restlessness in her bones. The two hit it off, create a murder case, and start to struggle. The company was thoroughly investigating the case, and the murdered daughter came to the door, crying and complaining about the vicious woman who killed her mother and father - his partner, feeling sorry for himself, trying to take the little girl out of grief, in fact, he was atonement for himself. I didn't see the heroine, saying it was for the heroine, but in fact it was also for myself. In the end, it was found that the heroine was still in motion, trying to let herself take the consequences alone, was betrayed, and shot people out of this world with two shots at the door. Finally, let innocent people not get involved in this tragedy. All the way, we watched Neff from restraining his desires, to obeying his inner desires, to being unable to hold back, and finally causing a catastrophe, and it was too late to look back.
The last scene is very interesting. Naf fell at the door of the company. He has always been smoking and needs to light a match to appreciate his boss (this smart one is almost no one...) and finally handed him a match to light a cigarette, representing the justice and conscience of human nature. flame.
Finally, an insurance officer is more suitable for solving a case than a note... (not black)

Double Indemnity quotes

  • Barton Keyes: Eh? There it is, Walter. It's beginning to come apart at the seams already. Murder's never perfect. Always comes apart sooner or later, and when two people are involved it's usually sooner. Now we know the Dietrichson dame is in it *and* a somebody else. Pretty soon, we'll know who that somebody else is. He'll show. He's got to show. Sometime, somewhere, they've got to meet. Their emotions are all kicked up. Whether it's love or hate doesn't matter; they can't keep away from each other. They may think it's twice as safe because there's two of them,

    Barton Keyes: [chuckles]

Barton Keyes: but it isn't twice as safe. It's ten times twice as dangerous. They've committed a *murder*! And it's not like taking a trolley ride together where they can get off at different stops. They're stuck with each other and they got to ride all the way to the end of the line and it's a one-way trip and the last stop is the cemetery. She put in her claim... I'm gonna throw it right back at her.

    [Walter hands Keyes a light]

Barton Keyes: Let her sue us if she dares. I'll be ready for her *and* that somebody else. They'll be digging their own graves.

  • Walter Neff: Dear Keyes, I suppose you'll call this a confession when you hear it... Well, I don't like the word confession, I just want to set you right about something you couldn't see because it was smack up against your nose. You think you're such a hot potato as a claims manager; such a wolf on a phony claim... Maybe y'are. But let's take a look at that Dietrichson claim... accident and double indemnity. You were pretty good in there for awhile Keyes... you said it wasn't an accident, check. You said it wasn't suicide, check. You said it was murder... check.
