This is not a BDSM movie, it's better to say love; this is not mainly about love, it's better to say "weird"

"This movie can be summed up as: a bunch of weird people."

When I summed it up, it was a bit of a joke. Then I take a shower. In the sound of rushing water, I thought of Woody Allen's funny story: he learned speed reading, and then spent a quarter of an hour reading "Resurrection" or "War and Peace" (that was his first time Read the novel), concluded that "this book says something about the Russians".

Can we say he is wrong? Hahaha!

"Midnight Gatekeeper" is a good movie in terms of workmanship, and reminds me of the writing of "Beauty by Daylight" I watched last year. But the style of the film is more in pursuit of classical fashion. These are not the point.

The point is that many people say this movie is sadistic, so there are people who talk about feminism and Stockholm Syndrome. If you want me to say that parents are a disaster for the group, it is better to use it as a sign, so you can also associate with the feminist group that also uses it as a sign.

What I've seen in the movies are some people with brain problems. They were from the Nazi ranks. But can we criticize Nazi-fascism again for this? Yes, but that's not what the director wanted to say. What I saw were two of the weirdest of the few weirdos who chose to die for love. But can we admire this alternative love for this? Yes, but I also don't think that's what the director meant.

The Nazis are just a source, an environment, which brings together some people with abnormal mentality.
Love is just an appearance, we should change the name, "intimacy", which is more accurate.
Sex is only one aspect of this "love relationship". Abuse is more secondary. And using the word abuse is not as objective as using the word violence.
The "intimacy" of these two people is unique because of their unique experiences and their unique sense of morality.
They were finally forced to death by their own kind, and it was as bloody as a rat's remnants of the same kind. But in the end they both died beautifully.

To sum up: Intimacy is related to the big environment, small environment, age status, sex, violence, and some kind of fate (for example, when I became a Nazi to train Gao Xiumin, it is probably not the plot of this movie, and it is impossible for me to pick Gao Xiumin. Tutor!)

I'm finding now that maybe it's hard to appreciate body art, dance, alternative stories and stuff like that before the age of 30. Because they also get erections or get wet easily and are not patient enough.

  • [first lines]

    Stumm: Good evening.

    Max: You're early.

Stumm: I want to get off early tomorrow morning. Ah, here are the flowers, the newspaper and the cigarettes that the countess asked for.

Max: [puts the flowers in a vase] Thank you.

    Stumm: Has she called down?

    Max: I don't know.

Stumm: You're always sending only me out to buy things for her.

Max: [annoyed] You get tipped, don't you?

    Stumm: [sarcastic; shrugs] Oh.
