Talk about Malik

Since the highly controversial "Tree of Life". "To Wonderland" and "Knight of the Holy Grail", Malick's work has become hollow.
The previous Malick was not like this, I feel that some of his ideas have changed. In other words, the work is more personal.
The main point of this film is that the son-in-law played by Bell lingers in the flowery world. The ending isn't spoiler, but it's pretty bloody.
There are excerpts from John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress" interspersed in the middle, which was the biggest surprise of the movie for me.
The rest is a bit disappointing. I knew about the existence of this film a few years ago, because of the cast, I have been looking forward to it, but when I saw the finished film, I felt a little bit of a gap.
Too many swivel shots, close-ups, long shots, but not much of what he's saying.
In Blanchett's part, I can't figure out the psychology of the characters, and the characterization is a bit far-fetched.
Although Bell played her ex-husband, the psychological descriptions of the two did not match.
I can understand Natalie's part very well, but I think the ending is bloody, I mentioned it before.
It is said that Malick is the American Wong Kar-wai (or Wong Kar-wai is the Chinese Malick, I forgot what he said), but they are indeed becoming more and more different. I can understand Wong Kar-wai's footage, while Malick, I don't understand more and more. In the past, Malick had a core to support it, but now, the core is not enough to support the entire movie, from "To Wonderland" to "Knight of the Holy Grail".
I have seen "New World" and "The Thin Red Line" before, but there are no labels, it seems that I have to read it again.
