Fairy tales are not all lies

When I was a child, I teased my younger brother that there was an elf in my closet. The vivid description matched my exaggerated acting skills. My younger brother believed this for many years. I still remember the questioning, curious look in his eyes, the exact same look on Walter's face when he was listening to the story. Every child has weaved more than one fairy tale dream in their heart. As they grow up, the dreams are broken by reality one by one. This is the source of the pain brought by growth.
When one day it is learned that the fairy tales of childhood are true, this may be the best ending.

How many great things it takes to be mentioned after death and say, "He really lived." Maybe it's as simple as believing in youth, taking risks, and loving. Then teach young people with stories when they are old, and then die with dignity.

Secondhand Lions quotes

  • Walter: What happened to her?

Garth: Looks like her heart gave out in all the excitement. She was plenty old, you know.

Walter: Look, I think she's smiling.

Garth: I guess she died happy.

Hub: She died with her boots on, that's the main thing.

    Garth: Protecting her cub.

Walter: She was a real lion, wasn't she, there at the end? A real jungle lion. A real Africa lion.

  • Garth: [sarcastic] That's SOME lion you bought.

Hub: Huh. SOME garden seeds YOU bought!
