Since the movie is advertised as high IQ, why make such a low-level mistake?
I think that's exactly what makes this movie so valuable!
In the previous battle of wits and courage, since Baba could accurately predict the reactions of passers-by, the confessions of his wife and daughter, and the routines of the chief prosecutor and the police, how could he not have expected this last move? And when the chief prosecutor found out that his son secretly took a video of someone else's daughter taking a bath, he already knew that his son could not escape and would definitely be punished. (Because this kind of behavior is absolutely devastating for Indian girls.) So, the final conversation, is nothing more than a mother wondering what happened to her child.
It's not that the movie's IQ is not enough, but that this "game" between the police and the people is just a coat. How to resolve the hatred and knots between each other is the most important thing. In addition to lynching and law, the movie gives another solution at the end, or a way of detachment - on top of IQ, there is warmth and faith.
