I love that desperate impulse, I love that youth that is gone forever

One:
In the early morning of a summer night a year ago, I sat on the floor in my bedroom and watched "Begin again" by myself with headphones.

At the concert at the end of the film, Sao Dang sang the song "Lost Stars" and watched the person he loved turn away. His voice was full of hopelessness, which was heartbreaking.

Today, a year later, I'm lying on the sofa in my private theater, watching "Sing Street" with my friends.

At the end of the film, also at the concert, when the male protagonist sang the song "Brown Shoes" at the risk of "the first performance being the last", his favorite girl rushed in. After singing the last song, the two ran into the night hand in hand, leaving behind the lights of the city behind them and the once-depressed life.

The same scene, different endings, if you were to ask me which one I love more, I would choose the second one.

After all, if "Begin again" is more realistic, "Sing Street" is more of an ideal. So, when the reality is so cruel, what could be happier than watching them on the screen realize their ideals and accomplish the things we can't do?

Two:
In the movie, after the male protagonist sang the last song and performed the last performance, he took the girl's hand and decided to escape this depressing and boring city together.

So they planned to drive the fishing boat left by their grandfather, leave Dublin overnight while their parents were asleep, and sail from the small seaside port across the English Channel to their dream metropolis - London.

The boy needed his brother to drive them to the port, so they quietly went home and told his brother the plan:

"We're sailing to England, just me and her! Everything is ready, and I need your help before going to the port. "The boy was excited.

"Oh, of course. When are you going?"

"Now!" said the boy and girl in unison.

"Now?" My brother was a little surprised.

"Do you know anyone in England?"

"No..." The boy replied in frustration.

"Will you be at the helm?"

"No..." The girl also began to sigh.

"But she has her pictures, and I have demos and videotapes of my songs!" the

boy tried to defend, with a determined expression on his face.

"Haha! Let's go! Go and steal the keys!"

When my brother said this, I fell in love with this brother!

The elder brother helped them pack their luggage, drove them to the port, and watched them off the shore, watching them brave the rain and waves to sail to the other side of their dreams.

The moment the boat disappeared at the sea level, my brother jumped up from the ground excitedly, waved his fists, and shouted: "YES!"

As if the boat also carried his dream, at this moment, he was like a dream come true real kids.

Seeing this scene, I burst into tears.

Three:
I suddenly thought, what would happen if the person who made this decision was me?

Within a second, the picture came to my mind:

the adults around me would be laughing and looking at me, and they would ask me like a brother: "Do you know anyone in England?" "You will be at the helm.

Or: "How old are you? Let's support yourself first." "Reality is not as simple as you think!" Even

hit: "You want to be a model at your height?" Can you go down?"

Then he dropped a sentence: "Wake up!" With a snap, a slap woke you up from your dream.

As for me, who was full of enthusiasm, it was like being drenched in a bucket of cold water, without the slightest fighting spirit.

Thinking of a sentence in "The Future will be Endless", it can't be described as appropriate: "Children can distinguish right from wrong, adults only see the pros and cons."

We have experienced too many such clips, and we have missed too many opportunities to change our lives. As adults will also tell you: maybe this is the reality.

Four:
"She's got her pictures, and I've got demos and videotapes of my songs!"

How assertive, how ridiculous it sounds, that's what they're all about running to a foreign land.

But the truth is, she wants to be a model, he wants to sing, photos and Damo, aren't these the best things to carry their talents and dreams?

What's more, they can rely on each other, and they still have a burning heart to pursue their dreams.

Seeing this, I realized how much I envy their impulses.

It seems that I can no longer judge this movie calmly and objectively. I just remember that after watching it, my whole body became brighter. I walked out of the theater with tears that had not been wiped away, and those lighthearted and moving love songs were still echoing in my mind. With the ignorant and romantic kiss of two sixteen-year-olds, and their final feat of running towards their dreams and breaking through reality.

But as soon as he turned his head, he still had to face such a "reality" of life.

"Have I been impulsive?" I asked myself.

After searching my memory, I started to remember, as if I had been impulsive in the same way.

My Yang and I once completed the long-awaited trip to the film festival in only three days. We set off on Friday and went to the capital overnight to catch up with the end of the film festival.

It's no big deal. Since you want to travel, why not choose the one you want to go to the most? No matter how far it is, it is unrealistic.

In order to go to the Shanghai Film Festival, I ignored the threats and warnings of my supervisor and rushed to Shanghai with my computer behind my back. After watching four movies on the first day, I went back to the youth hostel at 11 o'clock in the evening, turned on the computer and started changing with my classmates. The completion of the set will be until two o'clock in the middle of the night, and the next day at nine o'clock, I will continue the film festival by myself.

It's not a big deal, but it's a little tired. You can take care of your hobbies and studies. If you promise that the teacher will complete it, you will definitely complete it. What's more, you can catch up to watch the European Cup with your friends in the youth hostel!

I used to spend several days searching for volunteers in various hotels, just to fulfill my wish in the last vacation. Then the day after I found it, I took my Asahi on the road. If there is no direct ticket, we will transfer trains. If there is no sleeper, we will have a hard seat. If we can save a little bit, we will have a meal wherever we can (haha thanks to the friends along the way for the hospitality!) The whole line starts from Leping - Yingtan - Guiyang - Kunming - Lijiang, a full 48 hours.

It's no big deal, everyone said that we must take a trip that says go, and we didn't hesitate. During the more than 20-day volunteer trip, I met too many interesting people, visited too many interesting places, and experienced a life completely different from the past 20 years. What’s not worth it?

(Of course, I still want to thank these friends who are impulsive and crazy with me! Who knows where I got so many friends who are not afraid of death!)

Thinking of this, my blood boils! It seems that I, like the hero and heroine, once set sail desperately!

Five:
Movies are movies after all, and they are dream machines. The reality may be as adults say, cold and cruel, not poetry and distance.

But even so, we should still do something we think is worthwhile and "impulsive", maybe for ourselves, maybe for dreams, maybe for love. When we grow up and get old, when we look back on our whole life, we will be as fondly remembered and excited as I am when I look back on my own experiences.

If you've watched Sing Street, if you've read what I've written, and decided to do something you've been waiting for for a long time, but didn't do because of all kinds of concerns, then I'm here to applaud your courage , and send my most sincere wishes for your long journey!

Sing Street quotes

  • Raphina: Your problem is that you're not happy being sad, but that's what love is, Cosmo: happy-sad.

  • Brendan: Did the Sex Pistols know how to play? You don't need to know how to play. Who are you, Steely Dan? You need to learn how NOT to play, Conor. That's the trick. That's rock and roll. And THAT... takes practice.
