Ironically, Pride takes the word "ordinary" much further than the former.
The music that perfectly matches the plot like a needle (almost thought it was a musical), a very appealing central character mark, a group of lgbt groups who are passionate and not sentimental, almost exactly the same as ordinary typical London teenagers, along with the plot. The advancement of , has made people forget their lgbt status on several occasions.
Isn't that what we've been waiting for? It no longer emphasizes the identity of lgbt to fight against the whole world, but strives for freedom through the vision of the most ordinary social person, and strives for the basic freedom that a person is entitled to in society.
As a human being, you have to fight for the right things, and lgbt rights are just one of the many right things you need to do.
Why do we speak based on one's basic human rights without focusing on lgbt identity?
That's because LGBT, as a vulnerable and oppressed group, has received no less unfair treatment than other disadvantaged groups in history, such as women and blacks who were (in some places still) disadvantaged groups, Small regional groups such as the former miners in the UK (relative to the government) are all victims of mainstream power.
We cannot stand on the sidelines just because we are not a part of it, because there is no guarantee that at a certain time and place in the future, we will become a vulnerable group without human rights.
when you are in a battle, against an enemy so much bigger, so much stronger than you, well to find out you had a friend you never knew existed, well that's the best feeling in the world. When looking for a strong opponent, it is the best feeling in the world to find out that I have a friend who has never paid attention to the existence of it.
At the beginning of the film, you can clearly feel the theme of lgbt's struggle for rights and interests. Going to the middle part of the film seems to show a group of London hot-blooded youths doing their best to support the strike action to fight for human rights;
the latter part details the plot arrangement of everyone's life and future planning , and it will make us feel that all difficulties will pass. Dai's sentence "don't give it all to the fight" makes our focus seem to return to these passionate young people;
in the end, it turns out that this is the A stunned young joe's growth history. From the beginning, the parents followed mark/mike and others to support the strike and fundraising. Later, they arranged concerts and took photos to record all the support actions. They ran away from home to support the miners’ resumption of work, and finally said goodbye to their family members bravely. There are no strong conflicting pictures, and some are just the warmth that the director silently paved the way for.
mark is undoubtedly the center of the whole film. It is his enthusiasm and persistence that led to the birth of lgsm, the subsequent support for strike action, the pits and pervert concert, and the cooperation and mutual support between trade unions and lgbt groups.
In addition to the main line mark, the portrayal of other supporting roles has also been successfully remembered in a limited time, which enriches the content of the entire film to some extent, so that the 2-hour viewing time will not be too monotonous.
The first is gethin played by Mo Niang. As a child from the mountains of North Wales, Gethin is getting older and his relationship with his mother is as cold as ice. Her boyfriend is the first person to be confirmed HIV positive. He succeeded in interpreting the shy but steady lover gethin well, and for this reason the film won the Best Supporting Actor at the 17th British Film Festival.
Sian, played by jessica, performed amazingly throughout the play. As a responsible and assertive housewife, although her education level is not high, she has an unusual sense of justice and unique business acumen.
Hefina, the chairman of the charity committee played by imelda, is a hot old lady with strong principles, and every move is domineering.
It is these lovely characters, big or small, that make the pride so attractive.
The normal heart is full of depression and decadence from beginning to end, while the director of Pride intends to move closer to comedy in terms of style, and many small details reveal a strong sense of humour.
One of the small details is that Sian is pinning the lgsm invitation paper on the bulletin board with a stapler, and another homophobic committee member is putting the meeting supplies on the table one by one. A very cute way of expressing the conflict over the lgbt community within a small town.
There is also their own internal disputes whether it is the lighthearted and ridicule of "every woman is a lace in her heart", and some daily trivial things asked by the villagers (it is said that the questions actually asked by the residents of Wales at the time were recorded), so that People think that the director is really a lovely person, and only lovely people can make lovely works.
Finally, music is an important element that cannot be ignored in the pride. The timely soundtrack greatly adds to the film. In the middle section, the workers sing the bread and roses in the auditorium, and at the end of the film, for a friend (mark's real friend wrote it in memory of him) ) are tear-jerking songs.
