The humbler and the conqueror

The climax of the whole film is at the end. What touches me is not Philip's self-confidence to walk back and forth from the top, but the realization of the moment when he bends his body to pay tribute to the building, New York, and the audience in the middle. He is a conqueror when he walks on top, and a humble man when he kneels. This kind of insight, I think, is what Mr. Li Tianming once said:
When a person climbs to the top of the mountain with unyielding perseverance, when he is full of ambition and embraces the infinite scenery, he is a great conqueror.
When he calmed down, looked at the world, and faced eternity, he suddenly fell to the ground and bowed deeply, thanking the universe, God, and the gods. At this moment, his humbleness was greater than the greatness of the conqueror. . He doesn't need to pay attention to any philosophical trends, nor any religious pyramid schemes. He can already experience the highest comprehension and experience that any philosophy and any religion can point to.

  • Barry Greenhouse: It's something only a twisted, antisocial, anarchistic, pissed-off malcontent would have anything to do with.

Barry Greenhouse: [triumphantly] You have your inside man!
