The level of the four main characters is very clear:
Xiaopa's feelings are very delicate, and the film begins by saying that he has only one ex. But then with Richie I think it's because he's vain (perhaps the word is too much), cares about what other people think, wants to prove himself to his friends, or on the other hand he wants to get out of a previous relationship. He is mild-mannered and doesn't seem to be careful, but he is a little withdrawn and unwilling to admit his bad side.
