It's hard to predict whether to laugh or be afraid in the next scene

This slaughter film has a lot of references to horror film master Wes Craven's "Death Cry", which can be seen from the creepy animal mask. The routine followed is similar to that of "Victoria No. 1", which is to make the heroine's torture and murder be based on a psychological and moral level that is easily acceptable to the audience. The most interesting part I think is the combination of horror and comedy genres quite effectively, the quarrel scene at the beginning of the family gathering and the crazy performance after the family is attacked, the comedy effect is full. The transition from the comedy atmosphere in the first half to the thriller and killing in the second half is well handled, making it difficult to predict whether to laugh or be afraid in the next scene. This is the strength of the director and screenwriter.

  • Crispian: It was in fact a very important part of my plan that you were unharmed. We needed someone with no motive to see what had happened here. Someone other than Zee, obviously. Where is Zee?

    Erin: I killed her too.

Crispian: Ah. Totally understand. Listen, I'm sorry things got so out of control. But, uh, how were we supposed to know that you were, um, really good at killing people? Which is actually sort of weird, by the way.
