Killing Matt's life pursuit of disabled people, extreme interpretation "Life is precious, love is more expensive, if it is for freedom, both can be thrown away."

I don't know what this movie has become because of its poster... At first I thought it was an inspirational story of disabled rock youth who love freedom and music, but after reading it, I cried like a dog.

Juju and another actor, Steven Robertson, played two disabled people. Steven played Michael, a cerebral palsy patient, and Juju played Rory, who was paralyzed except for his right hand. Although Michael has difficulty speaking, he is kind-hearted and obedient, and tries his best not to cause trouble to the people in the rehabilitation center; and Rory is a troublemaker. Although he has a good brain, he wears a killer hairstyle and drives around in a wheelchair all day. Listening to rock and roll in the middle of the night disturbs one's dreams... Anyway, how come the bears come, and they are full of pornographic jokes, it is really like a Zhan Yimei imprisoned in the soul... Michael is very difficult to speak due to cerebral palsy, but Rory seems to wake up 7 years ahead of time The later professor was able to figure out Michael's thoughts in minutes (crossed out) and he was able to understand his speech by chance, so the two "paralyzed" in different senses became a pair of good friends who depended on each other.

The first half of the film is a comedy line, and the various tricks of the two people in the rehabilitation center are really annoying and funny. Rory pursues equality and respect, and has been trying to find fault with the nurses in the rehabilitation center. He has also applied to live independently but has been unable to obtain permission. There is a scene where Rory and Michael went to the bar to drink. He said to a girl Siobhan (the heroine of course), you invite us to drink, we perform, he will sing, I will dance... I am stunned when I hear this. Live, Rory can't move, but he can turn his wheelchair and dance, Michael can't speak clearly, but he can make a voice and sing.

Later, with the help of Michael, the two became independent and invited Siobhan to take care of their lives. The three of them had a hard time and a lot of fun, and one of the episodes stood out to me, where Rory yelled "Don't touch me, I took advantage of Michael and Siobhan to sneak out and get caught by the traffic cops." Disabled!" (This gigantic performance exploded, I was completely stunned) I felt that the traffic policeman's expression expressed in minutes, "Oh, now you know that you are a disabled person and you are driving around in a car. Why didn't you feel that at the time?"

I think this is also the contradiction in Rory himself, he hopes that others can treat him as a normal person, respect him, and treat him equally, but he himself doesn't think so in his own subconscious. I regard myself as the weaker party, as the party who has the right to shout, "You have to tolerate me and not tolerate me is to discriminate against me".

Siobhan is very good and kind, Michael likes her very much, but she has her own boyfriend and her own life, Michael was hit hard by this, and Rory's frivolity and irresponsibility also brought a lot of pressure to her, she chose to leave. The injured Michael fled into the rain, and Rory followed him outside in the rain to comfort him. This section is like a huge drama between two giants, weeping each other, turning wheelchairs and dancing in the rain, perfectly to the point, even if our bodies are trapped in wheelchairs and can't move, Inside, I am dancing.
And Rory because of several showers Rain infected and died.

The ending of the movie is very sad, but Michael finally learned from the rebellious Rory that "the outside world is wonderful", and Rory's last sentence "Rory O'shea was here." is also meaningful. I think, many people may not be as unfortunate as him, or maybe even more unfortunate than him. There are countless big and small things in the world that make people want to try their best. Some people succeed, some people fail, and some people Some people return home, and some people do nothing... Paul Korchakin's phrase "When he looks back on the past, he does not regret for wasting his time, nor is he ashamed for being mediocre" has always been regarded as a classic. For Rory , although he came into this world for only a short period of more than 20 years, and he has been in a state of paralysis, but he has worked tirelessly and fought for himself. He can dance with his soul, which is a very strong stroke. now...

Rory O'Shea Was Here quotes

  • Michael Connolly: [Siobhan is interpreting Michael's words] When I first met Rory I thought he was trouble. And I was right. He *is* trouble. Yet because he is seen as a rebel, you believe he hasn't the responsibility to live independently. But how do you learn to be responsible? You live in the world. You make your own decisions. You make your own mistakes. So if this panel can offer independent living to someone like me who until recently had no concept of what that meant, and refuse someone whose very life is an embodiment of independence, then I believe that the panel showed a prejudice.

  • Rory: [looking at Michael] You have the future, Michael. That's what *I* call a gift.
