There is one kind of film that is no longer available in theaters, like Bergman's "The Seventh Seal," and this one, "Masquerade."
It's a film that's all about art, a story of a listener who never speaks and a talker who never stops talking. Freezing every frame of a film is a great piece of photography. Genital outlines, animal carcasses, eyeballs, internal organs, self-immolated monks, nailed palms, a large number of montage shots that have nothing to do with the plot flashed quickly in the picture, but they were consciously unified with the theme and touched something buried. Two completely different people are slowly blending together in getting along, and it is difficult to separate each other.
The obscure themes, the obscure pictures, and the self-tortured dialogue make this film completely unsuitable for minors to watch, and will also make some adults feel disgusted. This is a work of art of light and shadow, destined to belong to only a few people.
