The Phantom of the Opera

The high-level restoration, the modification part is even better, the hand is luxurious and atmospheric, especially like the ending treatment. The Phantom of the Theater is also the closest to "human" setting among the eight monsters in the world. There is no interference from external factors, and the good and evil all come from the heart.
The appreciation of pure opera is still lacking, but I think the heroine's singing is very good, especially the familiar melody. The heroine is very beautiful in this movie, but I never thought of it as a little girl in the day after tomorrow.
Music is really the biggest highlight of this show, and basically the only highlight. It is a pity that as a movie, this alone is obviously not enough. The integration of music and drama is difficult but very important. It is a pity that the director has no way to master it well, and it is difficult for actors to balance sound and performance.

I really can't stand the dead fish eyes of the heroine, and Christine, who is full of aura, was played to death by her. . . Gerard Butler still shocking debut

The plot is a bit cliché, but the song Music of Night never tires of listening to it. How come no one turned "The Mystery of the Yellow House" into a musical?

The Phantom of the Opera quotes

  • The Phantom: [to Christine of Raoul] His life is now the prize which you must earn!

  • Madame Giry: He welcomes you to his opera house...

    Firmin: His opera house?

Madame Giry: ...and commands that you continue to leave box 5 empty for his use. And reminds you that his salary is due.

    Firmin: His salary?

Madame Giry: Well, Monsieur Lefevre used to give him 20,000 francs a month.

Firmin: [grabs note from Andre] 20,000 francs?

Madame Giry: Perhaps you can afford more? With the Vicomte as your patron?

Firmin: Madame, I had hoped to make that announcement public tonight when the Vicomte was to join us for the gala. But obviously we shall now have to cancel, as it appears we have lost our star. A full house, Andre. We shall have to refund a full house!

Madame Giry: Christine Daae could sing it, sir.

Andre: A chorus girl? Don't be silly.
