"First Love This Love Song"

Cute and cool movie! The characters in it all love it. The only part I don't like is that the ending handling is a bit disjointed.

John Carney's films are unique in that they focus on documenting and creating rather than conveying or even preaching. Because songs are born with a very strong expressive and evangelistic function, he has a good grasp of the in-betweenness.

I am very happy that he returned to the "once" after "Begin Again (2013)", abandoned the stereotypes of such themes, and used more formal processing of the film, and the effect is also good.

  • Evan: What style would you say you were?

    Conor: I'm a futurist.

Evan: Epic. See you in the future, then.
