Not even a single story can be told completely. The suspense and fear that are put together by various so-called details are only metaphysical and can't see the soul that a movie should have. There are a lot of illogical bridges with no beginning and no end. You can't understand them, can you? It just makes you can't understand it, makes you make all kinds of guesses, and then suddenly thinks, damn, the director is so awesome!
Not every story and every director can be like Shutter Island, allowing you to understand but not understand, allowing you to discover the unsolved fear in this story in an immersive way.
On the contrary, more and more people can only play tricks, make a name for themselves, and use the audience's ignorance and self-confidence to improve the reputation and box office of the movie.
