But that's embarrassing! One of the attributes of a biographical film itself is fan orientation, so it is very important whether you make a real or fake film, especially this kind of film that has to be exhibited everywhere.
But after watching this movie, I realized that "Trump" is not actually a biographical film, nor is it a fan-oriented film. What the director wants to make is a feature film. For this feature film, the translation of the Taiwanese name is the catch. Its essence: "Hollywood's Blacklist".
It has to be said that titles like "Hollywood's Blacklist" are attractive, aren't they? Facts have proven to be the same, and this film has been in a circle at major film festivals and still has nothing. In fact, this kind of movie is like this. People don't care who you are shooting. People care about what kind of story you tell in the movie. Trumbo is recognized as a talented screenwriter in Hollywood, and his movies can win Oscars. But it's hard to say that this movie was written specifically for him. If you want to investigate the reason, I can only say that the director's values are still a bit problematic.
First, there are too few scenes where the Trumbo family fights with him in the movie, and more is fighting against him. I know that the director wants to show Trumbo's personality and charm, but in a bigger BOSS ( Is it inappropriate to show a certain trait of the protagonist by fighting with his family in front of the Non-American Activities Committee)? You can't advocate what Hollywood does, and you fight people in the opposite way.
Second, Trumbo's colleagues in the movie didn't have many scenes to express what they were fighting for. Although the movie gave a lot of scenes to Trumbo's Mediterranean colleagues, and also gave a lot of jokes to the cult film company, But doing this is not a struggle, it's more of a joke. In that weird and serious era, fighting was a very serious thing, serious enough to go to jail for it, but the movie took this part relatively easily.
Third, the final vindication is not actually the result of the struggle, but the movie still puts the blame on Trumbo. The lifting of the Hollywood blacklist is neither the credit of Trumbo alone, nor the lifting of the ban in the real sense. But Trumbo's talent is really outstanding. In order to give everyone an acceptable statement, such a movie was born in the end.
So I think this movie is absolutely used by a group of American rightists to disgust TG.
This is a very boring movie, a movie that focuses on dialogue. If you want to practice your speaking, or find a sense of American English, I suggest you still watch it.
