Tarkovsky's works are very abstract and conceptual, and the philosophical inquiry is relatively obscure. The three main characters in the film, without names, are references to their respective work, the physics professor who collects data for the experiment, the writer who seeks inspiration, and the stalker who acts as an intermediary guide. The destination is the blocked Zeng meteorite after the impact. The "room" in the formed "zone", an ultimate destination where all wishes can be fulfilled. In the road of inquiry symbolizing the pursuit of truth, the three discussed and refuted all the way to form a very meaningful philosophical inquiry, and the retreat after the self-doubt, denial, and remodeling before the "room" is a symbol of Nirvana. The re-cognition of life and oneself has far-reaching philosophical significance.

After reading it three times, I fell asleep the first two times. Thinking of the unknown area shrouded in "flash" in "annihilation", "The Zone" in "Stalker" is like a human spiritual labyrinth, with long shots and wasteland aesthetics derived from poetry and mystery. The water cup in which the gods move, the heavy rain in the room, the artistic conception of the sand pile, the old pagoda is simply the king of images. Tarkovsky is really unbearable in life.
