Double, double toil and trouble

Double, double toil and trouble
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble
Fillet of a fenny snake
In the cauldron boil and bake!
This is a famous line in Shakespeare's famous play "Macbeth", the three witches muttered before refining the poison. It means doubling and doubling, working and working hard, the bottom of the pot is hot, the pot is boiling, the snakes caught in the swamp are deboned, and they are roasted in a large pot of oil! Although these four lines have nothing to do with the plot, they point to a key point - "Macbeth". Of course, these four sentences also point to the final outcome of the town - roasted like a snake. Macbeth, jealous of Duncan because of his ambition, killed Duncan and his cronies. More and more ghosts in my heart, and more and more cold. In the end, the people betrayed their relatives and left, and under the siege of the reinforcements, they ended up cutting their heads.
In my opinion, the people in the town are like Macbeth who deserve what they deserve. They are cruel and indifferent, represented by the mayor. He cheated on his nervous wife and cheated with another tailor, Oona; and watched Tilly's mother die indifferently. But to say they are Macbeth is also an insult to Macbeth, because they are not like Macbeth to frame innocent people for power, they are more selfish, indifferent and numb. When Tilly was a child, the female teacher was partial to the mayor's son, Stewart, and allowed him to be domineering, while beating and scolding Tilly, and even accusing a ten-year-old girl of murder with an inexplicable malice; the doctor Amanek is more like a well-dressed bastard, secretly telling a ten-year-old girl that her mother is a slut and she is a little bastard; and Xiao Ge, watching his little friend being bullied by the little bully and not going to help Even if it is, I hurriedly ran to inform... To borrow a sentence, it is "good people are all alike, but ugly people are ugly in their own way." It was this group of people who, after seeing Tilly becoming an excellent tailor, came to Tilly shamelessly, hoping that she could help them change their image. Like a collective amnesia, they completely forgot about the "killed a boy" Madonna. (aka Tilly). Unfortunately, although people rely on clothes, gorgeous clothes still cannot hide their inner ugliness: Xiao Ge is still the rude daughter of the grocery store owner at the entrance of the village (see how she eats cakes in the mayor's house in Chinese clothes); women are still Likes to gather at the grocery store and gossip about other people.
The villains in the movie deserve what they deserve, and the good guys all survive (except for poor Hammer). God's to God, Caesar's to Caesar, let all the wicked go to hell! Tilly's mother has been pretending to forget what happened in the past. In fact, she wanted the heroine to quickly forget what happened in the past and leave the town. But what she didn't know was that some things can't be solved without forgetting. The evil you do, the cause you sow, will have what kind of result.
The town where Tilly is located is a closed environment. Here, people seem to be united. Yes, they took the same attitude when facing Tilly, an outsider who had been away from home for decades: suspicion, sarcasm, ridicule and isolation. This reminds me of another movie Dogtown. The same town, the same indifferent people, the same beautiful woman. But in the end, Grace becomes the kind of person she fears, who will do evil whenever she gets the chance to get revenge. Mr. Lu Xun said that tragedy is to destroy beautiful things for others to see. For Grace, I think the audience is more in a tragic mood. As for Tilly, everyone knew that she came with the purpose of revenge. She was the one who took the initiative. She decided life and death, and the people of Dengota Town were more like fish to be slaughtered. There is also a very important reason, Tilly has a love in her heart - Teddy. As the saying goes, good love makes people good, and Grace was unfortunate, and she met Tom's writer who finally let her down.
I still remember writing an essay in high school titled "Going to a distant place, there is no scenery in a familiar place", and now I finally understand why people go to a distant place and go for a poor tour. Hometown is like a small town in a movie. It is very comfortable, but there will be rumors and slander. In China's acquaintance society, it is easy for everyone to become a "person in a cover", killing time in the daily trivialities. So, when you are young, you still have to go out and walk more. Who knows what the world is like outside? Until then, it's not too late to hide in your comfort zone.
