The whole film ignores Kate's heroine halo and Hammer's perfect warm male image. His favorite character is actually the transvestite town policeman played by Hugo Weaving. As an educated adult, we should know that what we really need to stay away from is not so-called "geeks" with unspeakable personal quirks, nor those who dare to admit that they have done wrong and strive to be themselves redeemed man. What you need to stay away from is people who use such despicable means as the county lord to cover up the crimes he once committed and live in this world with peace of mind.
