Great story, great actors, ruined by the director and writer! ! !

A typical American inspirational story in the 1980s, the germination, suffering, rebirth, and final success of JL's dream. The story of one line contains various emotional lines such as Cooper and Lao Luo. It is a two-hour movie with many points in the middle. It can be emphasized, but the unnecessary narration of the dead and all kinds of nagging in the middle take up a large part of the time, but instead the rebirth part is hasty, ending, successful, finished? ? ! ! I don't understand, the audience should see not how difficult her experience was or how stupid her family was, but her success story! ! As far as the part where she and Cooper met, I can't really say anything else. If you add a short experience after the Texas negotiation at the end, it may not appear so weak as a whole, a film that has no appeal at all, a waste of good actors and good stories! ! !

Joy quotes

  • Cristy 5 Years Old: Mimi said that you were the one born to help carry us on to success.

Joy: No, Christie, Mimi was wrong. The world does not *give* you opportunities, the world destroys the opportunities. It breaks the heart. I should have listened to my mother, when I was 10 years old. I should have spent the rest of my life watching TV and hiding from the world like my mother. So I don't want to hear anymore about Mimi. She was wrong, she had her head in the clouds, and it was full of stupid ideas, and it gave me stupid ideas. But this?

    [picks up a mop]

    Joy: This stupid, stupid idea!

    [throws the mop down]

  • Mimi: [narrating] She'd put up with just about anything... until when she had to bring the hammer down - she brought the hammer down.
