This movie is a suspense movie and has two versions, one version is 1 hour 51 minutes and the other version is 1 hour 45 minutes. The former version may also be the more popular version, the black-screen phrases that appear in the movie are written in French, and the latter, which is shorter, the black-screen phrases are written in English. Below are my thoughts on the film in detail.
The first part: The
previous version of the main body of the story introduces a complete story, starting from the release of the protagonist Mr. Green from prison, until Mr. Marshe committed suicide, during which he explained what Green did after he was released from prison. So what did Mr. Green do after he got out of prison? First of all, Green returned to his home after he was released from prison, but found that his money had been taken away by two life-and-death friends who had met in prison. The two cellmates also left a note to tell Green. After that, Green started from scratch and carried out his own revenge plan. The main theme of the revenge plan was to take away the things that the enemy cherished. The life of the little minions was taken first, because life was the most important thing to them, and Marshe was the main reason for Green's prison. The person who died in the disaster and his sister-in-law, Green felt that he could not just die like this, but to take away the things most cherished by the stable - rights, dignity and so on. Green underestimated the strength of Marshes, left behind the scenes, and walked to the front of the stage. Due to the direct conflict with Marshes, Green put himself and his friends in danger, and lost his friends and several subordinates. After being released from prison, Invincible was frustrated. Green met two inmates. With the help of the inmates, he took revenge without blood on his hands. Marsh ended up shooting himself.
Having said that, some people may wonder why Masha finally committed suicide? The answer is very simple, because Masha found that Green was Mr. Gothe, whom he had always respected and feared. When Masha found out that the enemy he had been dealing with turned out to be the most feared and feared Gothe; when he found out, When Gothe's goal turned out to be himself, his heart collapsed, which should be described as collapse.
In fact, Gothe is Green, and Green is Gothe. In the later part of the movie, two inmates brought Green to the Marshes' site, and said to Green: You have a meeting (actually, I don't know how to describe this word.) At this time, even if you don't understand It should be seen that only the two and their important subordinates knew about the transaction between Marshe and Gothe, and Green happened to be present at the agreed place and date, which implied the fact that Green and Gothe were the same person. There are other hints in the film that Green didn't appear surprised or alarmed when Green's brother called to tell Green to leave the two inmates. Aside from the factors of illness, when ordinary people hear that they have violated the will of a person with terrible strength, they will show some traces, be puzzled or be shocked. However, Green did not. He just listened to his brother's description quietly. Because Gothe is himself. Compared with others, Green felt that it was more important than other things to quietly listen to the words of concern from the closest relatives.
However, another problem came. At that time, Green had been hunted down, how could it be possible to arrange for his men to negotiate a deal with Marshe? The basis for this assertion is that Green's two inmates were released from prison for two years first. They were friends of life and death with Green. After they were released from prison, they would definitely pay attention to Green at all times, and Green said something: They know me of all things, including some unspeakable little secrets. And two of Green's cellmates said in the final scene: We are you. That is to tell Green, in fact, these are arranged for you.
In this way, the context is clear, Mr. Gothe is the tool that Mr. Green used to destroy Mr. Marsh. Establish a belief that represents inviolability, and plant the seeds of fear in everyone's heart, no one sees Gold but Gold sees everything, this sentence is a metaphor that the word Gold represents the pervasive intelligence network and killer organization. In the process of building his faith, Green was assimilated by his own beliefs, making himself arrogant and greedy, valuing revenge and money above all else. Green himself became Gothe's slave.
During the three days of getting along with the two inmates, the two inmates set out two conditions:
1. The questions asked can only be answered and cannot be questioned;
2. Hand over all the money and use it for usury, and it is a usury with a very low probability of recovery.
The cellmates took Gothe's favorite things, money and power. This process is very painful for Gothe, and Green is equally painful. At the end of the movie, Green defeated Gothe in the elevator, found himself, and used Gothe hidden in the enemy's heart to solve the enemy. if you change the rules that control you, you can change the rules that you can control. This rule is Mr.Gold, the greedy and arrogant Mr.Gold.
Part II: Introduction to Another Version
Another version, that is, the version with a slightly shorter duration, has some things added and some things deleted compared to the previous one. It can be seen from the duration that adding did not decrease much. The bright spot is that the ending has changed.
The last scene in the previous version, where Mr. Marsh kills himself with a gun, is missing here, and the plot ends with Green triumphing over himself in the elevator, and Marsh barking at the empty elevator. The end of the plot is not the end of the movie. In this version, interviews with many scholars are added at the end of the film. This part of the content leads the film to another direction that we are easy to ignore, that is, when we are demanding the plot of the film itself, we ignore the ideas that the film wants to convey.
This part of the content led me to question my self-consciousness. In psychology, human consciousness has subconsciousness and preconsciousness, as well as id, ego and superego. I don't know much about this kind of books, but only know a little bit. People are always easily dominated by the id, because the id is powerful, the id represents desire, and desire represents acquisition, happiness and satisfaction; the superego is the bondage of social morality, and the id and the superego are weighed against each other. , then there is the self, which is the product of man's original desire and moral compromise. Many so-called free wills, under the guise of liberating human nature, trample on human nature. Its essence is to strengthen people's id and trample the superego, thereby lowering the moral lower limit of the ego.
The topic is a bit far off, back to the movie itself. I think this film is more about arousing the viewers' self-consciousness. People's original desires are powerful, but they are not invincible. No matter when, truth, goodness and beauty will always exist. In this version, the killer Sowert does not appear to be killed, the plot is that Sowert kills everyone. In fact, this conveys more of a message to us, that is: everyone has a noble side in their hearts, even when Mr. Marshe saw the donation headlines in the newspaper, he still had a bit of obscenity in his heart, and even asked Show off.
To end my review of this film, I will use an old-fashioned phrase: "Put down the butcher's knife and become a Buddha on the spot."
