The House of Sin, in English, is An Inspector Calls, which literally translates to a visit from a detective. Before watching it, I only knew that the word of mouth was overwhelming, so I didn't know much about the Chinese and English names: What is the situation of this translation?
The general plot is that the family is celebrating the marriage of the two chaebols, and suddenly an uninvited guest: Inspector Goold. After revealing her identity, she explained her purpose: a girl committed suicide, and just now, in the hospital, she left a diary. Mr.Berlin is the head of the family, he said what does that have to do with us? The detective reported his name. Mr.Berlin was a little flustered, but he still expressed doubts, so the detective showed him the photo. So he panicked, because he recognized it and told the whole story. It turned out that two years ago, it was an employee of his factory who was fired for leading a small protest. But that was two years ago. What does her death have to do with me?
The daughter came in, and the detective turned his attention to her again and showed her the photo! It turned out that after she was fired, she found a job as an employee of a department store, but was disturbed by the eldest lady's temper, which indirectly caused her to lose her job again.
When she was desperate, she went to the bar. When she heard this, her daughter's fiancé was stunned. She met this girl at the bar and abandoned her after playing for a few months. Once again, she was in trouble.
Seeing this, I suddenly understood that everyone present is an indirect executioner and a guilty person, so the Chinese name is translated like this! I continued to watch, it was my wife’s turn, the girl couldn’t survive anymore, I came to the place where women rescued, my wife was the chairman and decided whether to help or not, but I heard the girl claiming to be Mrs. Berlin, and that she was pregnant with a child, But you can't be with the child's father, there are two classes. The lady felt she was talking nonsense and decided to refuse help. The lady who told the reason asked the inspector, you should go to that boy, what are you doing with us to make her belly big? The daughter suddenly understood at this moment, and emphasized to her mother, don't you understand? that boy? Oh no! It's her son!
Sin! Poor girl! Met a family of "bad guys".
The detective finished what he had to say and left. Left a terrified family. I prayed silently that the girl didn't die, it would be fine if she didn't die, it's better for the boy to pick her up (I'm so bloody). Following the detective's footsteps, I came to the girl downstairs. The detective looked out to the window. The girl was sitting by the bed and was writing a diary. She glanced downstairs, and there was no one there. She clipped the photo to the diary and left. Got home, walked to an open space, drank the prepared "poison"... Still dead
and the family suddenly woke up, this so-called detective. It doesn't exist at all, and I called the hospital to ask if a girl committed suicide, and got no result. Call the police station to check that the detective doesn't exist either. They were relieved and began to celebrate a false alarm. Then at this moment, the bell rang, the hospital called, a girl had just committed suicide...
Goold was God. God has come to warn you; God has come to take away the suffering girl.

The first half is very exciting, and the character performance and plot development are perfect. But playing clever and far-fetched in the next 15 minutes. I can't see Mr. God's motive for doing all this at all. For the world in the movie, instead of saving the woman who committed suicide, instead of helping the family be mentally prepared? It’s rare that British films are so illogical, especially for logical reasoning films.

One of the most high-quality British dramas of this year, the class accusations are loud, tearing the veil of the hypocrisy of the rich. The brocade robe and gold and silver dining utensils that symbolize civilization reflect their integrity when they eat blood steamed buns. It is said that JB Priestley's original work has a long-lasting performance. With the pattern of reasoning, the ending is broken in the form of a virtual pen. The texture of the oil painting highlights the guilt, and the soundtrack is low and asks the soul.

An Inspector Calls quotes

  • Arthur Birling: [about his workers] If you don't come down hard on some of these people, they'll soon be asking for the earth.

    Gerald Croft: [obsequiously] That's right.

The Inspector: They might. But it's better to ask for the earth than to take it.

  • [last lines]

Arthur Birling: [hanging up the phone] A girl has died. Suicide. A police inspector is on his way to ask us some questions.
