The opening scene is that Mickey and Jack drive to a gas station. They keep going south and want to leave, but they find that they go back to the gas station no matter how they drive, and there are always monsters behind them. Later, Jack is killed by the monster, and Mickey walks to a room. The several stories of this film give people a feeling of seamless connection. After watching it, I deliberately went back and watched the transition in the middle. A simple set of shots turned to another batch of protagonists in the scene. The transitions are all different, and several key concepts form a one-way world. The recent From (2022) drama also uses the same trick. There are several kinds of people in the town, a group of monsters in the bar, a cult family, A tattoo parlor behind a gas station, a flying skeleton monster, these seemingly unrelated elements are all supported by a theme of redemption, but the script does not explain what happened to the daughter of the man wearing the mask.
