In fact, it is a very good sports inspirational film with a steady pace and rhythm. And a natural laugh. It's a pity that it was ruined by the ultra-low film rate. I personally would rather go to the cinema to see it than watch The Revenant. . . Taron completely subverted his image in Kingsman, and Uncle Hugh with Long Legs attracted me for the first time -- prefer this kind of realistic hormonal masculinity (although the character is purely made up).
Although I sneered at competitive sports, in fact, I completed the cognition of many sports of ice hockey, baseball and rugby with relish in the movie. This process gave me an epiphany that sports is not something that can be done with a strong mind and a simple mind. It also made me realize that there is a belief in the world called "knowing that you will lose, you have to fight to the end." Competition is like life, you can do your best, but you can't be too obsessed with the ending.
The reason is simple, and it takes thousands of twists and turns to pave the way for implementation. The reality is also much harder than the movie. But the sense of power is conveyed. I remembered that many years ago, an elder once asked me: Do you know what the most important thing about sports can bring? . . . And then told me again: passion.
Even though we're on the verge of having artificial intelligence, we can't create anything to replace passion and all emotions. Even if humans are nearly wiped out by robots, the few survivors may still be jogging on the trails. . . . Hey, it's comforting to think that even the vast universe may not understand our unique feelings.

(I admit that the last paragraph is opening my mind...)

Egerton performed better than expected. A very clean sports story, but also a story of a free man.

"he never understood that a true olympian was not just about a godgiven skill set, it was about never giving up no matter what. knowing that doing your best is the only option even if it results in failure."

Eddie the Eagle quotes

  • Eddie Edwards: I just thought we could have a little chat about me being an Olympic ski-jumper.

Bronson Peary: You've more chance of being a ballerina than a jumper.

Eddie Edwards: Good one. I was juts after a few tips, really.

Bronson Peary: Give up, there's one for free.

  • Bronson Peary: [showing Eddie the models of the different ramps] I felll in love with this sport, man. It started with this little baby. This 15 metre little vixen. You manage to land that because it's meant to hook you into the sport, right, so otherwise you wouldn't even bother trying. The 40 meter, when you stack you get bruised, which I don't have to explain to *you*.

    Eddie Edwards: [chuckles] Sorry.

Bronson Peary: The 70 metre, you break bones and you're lucky if you can walk again. The 90 metre. The goddess. Let's just say in the Wild West we'd be measuring you for your coffin before you even reach the stairs. Never forget that, kid.
