After reading it, um... at least it's better than expected. The mythical film that I have rated the most before is "Son of Zeus" (or the one that combines respect for the original version & modern deconstruction), and this "God War • Eyes of Power" is almost the same in theme. This level, the effect is far beyond.
It is well known that most of the Egyptian gods have animal heads. This film uses "transformation" to deal with the relationship between animal heads and characters, and there is an obvious height difference between gods and mortals, which is a very clever way to deal with it. It's a pity that I didn't see the transformation of Hathor (the bull's head) and Thoth (the head of the holy ibis), and the god Ra did not become the head of an eagle. ) and other famous animal gods did not appear. Not to mention Isis playing soy sauce... But in general, there are enough gods who have appeared, and I am quite satisfied.
In the past, when I watched the story of Osiris and Horus, it was always a firm Seth black, even if the movie tried to whitewash him, it was useless, and he died very happily! But not seeing Osiris become Hades, another pity.
If you give up your complex of Egyptian mythology, this film is really not worth watching in theaters. But for the sake of this theme plus a fairly basic and reliable interpretation, give it four stars. At least it didn't disappoint me like Troy and Clash of the Titans.
