About farewell and entrustment

I watched this movie on the train, and I didn't really watch it at first. On the one hand, it was because the plot was smooth and there were no ups and downs. On the other hand, it might be because the topic of death was too heavy and I didn't want to face it instinctively. I didn't finish the rest of the hour until I got home at night. The hardest part is saying goodbye, with the dog, with the son, with the friend. Two scenes made me cry. One was Julian who flew to see his son at school the day before his birthday. When he said goodbye to his son, the son, who had already separated, turned back and hugged his father tightly as if he had sensed something. And when he was sending off his friend at the airport, he handed the dog leash and the ticket to his friend. Perhaps this was the deepest trust he had in his friend.

Truman quotes

  • Julián: Glad to see you.

Tomás: I can see that... You've got an erection.

  • Julián: You know the main thing I've learned from you?... What you've taught me all these years unknowingly?

Tomás: Why don't we keep walking?

Julián: Because I'm saying something important, can't you wait one more minute?... Why are you here?

Tomás: I want to have breakfast, so that I'm ready... What's that important thing you've learned from me? Let's see.

Julián: You never expect anything in return... You never want a payback... You're generous, unlike me.

    Tomás: Thanks.

    Julián: And me?

    Tomás: What?

Julián: What have you learned from me?

Tomás: From you? Nothing, absolutely nothing... Maybe illegal things... To be brave... You've always faced everything squarely... Like now.
