The film creates a very special killer, Jeff, loner and taciturn, neither a clever and agile high-IQ criminal connoisseur, nor a affectionate fringe prodigal, Jean-Pierre Melville in the film one. At the beginning, such a lone wolf with Bushido spirit is defined, the cold environment, the minimal communication, the arrest of the police, Jeff still fulfills his killer mission, and the non-verbal details are highlighted in the second half of the film. The description, which delicately portrays Jeff's inner world, completes the tribute to the spirit of Bushido after the martyrdom of self-destruction.
