Cultural differences or gaps

I have to say that I watched the midnight show shortly after getting off the plane. It was very tiring. In addition, the beginning of the movie was really not that simple and easy to digest. It was really difficult to concentrate in the first 20 minutes, and I almost fell asleep several times. But as the atmosphere in the film builds up and heats up, and the tension increases, and it builds up little by little, I become unusually sober. And the processing of the picture is also very praised, and the visual impact greatly makes up for the dullness caused by the difficulty of the film (in fact, the word difficulty is not so appropriate, but I can't think of how to describe it for a while, I guess). In short, the overall emotional grasp is in place, and with the super strong BGM, it is still a very shocking feeling in the end. Especially since I was in the United States at the time, I could better understand that kind of psychology, but the differences between cultures would still affect the appreciation of many people, which made people feel boring and even unnecessary depression.
I gave it four points because cultural differences must be a big problem, and one point is that it is not rigorous enough as a historical film, but I won't go into details in order to avoid spoilers.
