What is the meaning of religion?

For the fact that there is really a god at the end of the play, I think it is a failure. Maybe Indians, especially those with religious beliefs, think this is the finishing touch. But I feel that the finishing touch has become a dead fish eye. However, such a pair of dead fish eyes cannot hide the wonderfulness of the whole play. After all, this is an Indian movie. In a country where almost all people believe in religion, it is necessary to show that God really exists, otherwise the crew will be beaten and the actors will not play.
However, for the dialogue in the film, especially the court debate, I find it really shocking. Since I am an atheist, I watched it from the sidelines. But people in my family would worship God during the festivals and offer incense every day. But I think that if God exists, and God's original intention is to impart love to the world, then believers today will only serve God with luxurious decorations and expensive sacrifices. Will God be happy? Is this God's intention? If there is no God, what's the point of using various "sutras" as guides to life today?
