Good effect, good rhythm

"Most tightrope walkers die near the finish line. They think they've reached the finish line, but they're still on the rope. If you have three steps to go, excitement will take their place. If you think you're invincible , you will die."
In order to watch the high-altitude tightrope walk, I went to the cinema to watch the 3D version. The effect was good, but I didn't feel scared. Could it be that my previous fear of heights was fake? The narrative rhythm of the whole film is smooth and smooth, the visual effects scenes are pleasing to the eye, and the images of the male and female protagonists are perfect, which truly restores the amazing feat of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York on August 7, 1974. The beautiful twin towers in the film can also be regarded as a tribute to the twin towers that are now the site of the 9/11 World Trade Center. The scene of sneaking into the building to do the preparatory work on the eve of the tightrope walk is very touching.

It was an excellent viewing experience for me, especially when the rope fell from the sky into my eyes. Of course, it's a film about "dreams," and I appreciate Philip Pat's obsession with dreams.

Adapted from the author’s autobiography, using the first-person narration to run through, "The Tightrope Walker" is already from this perspective, I don’t know if this is the reason for the a little boredom in the first half, after all, this is a story that everyone is too familiar with... But the last third is an undeniable irritation. The 3D is used just right. If you are afraid of heights, you have to be cautious. I can see my limbs are cold, and the grandmother next to me frequently takes off the 3D glasses to pant...

The Walk quotes

  • News Reporter: Why did you do this?

Philippe Petit: There is no "why." Just because. When I see a beautiful place to put my wire, I cannot resist.

News Reporter: [narrating] The story of my adventure was in the news all over the world. In France, when Papa Rudy heard of it, he was the happiest Papa Rudy in the world. And when Papa Rudy's angry, he's deadly angry. But when Papa Rudy's happy, his dogs get a double ration of food.

  • Jean-Pierre: You know Philippe, the Towers seem different. They're different now.

Barry Greenhouse: That's right. They're different because you walked up there. Every New Yorker I talk to now says they love these towers.

Annie: [looking up at the towers] Perhaps you brought them to life, Philippe - given them a soul.
