Snake and Yellow Butterfly

In my opinion the best adaptation of a female author by a male director is Michael Haneke's "The Piano Teacher," thanks to the
original author Elfried. Jelinek is a fighter in the dead house, with severe social phobia. Because of his dislike of communicating with people, he even refused to accept the
Nobel Prize , and the committee sent the prize out of humanitarianism, which is also an anecdote in the history of Nobel. So I guess Michael Haneke
wrote the script 80% without showing it to Jelinek, and Jelinek is even less likely to give him any advice or communication. That's why Jelinek's
unique and obscure words can be transformed into such a complete and high-quality film.
But Hirokazu Koreeda, as a director who often writes scripts independently, even pulled the original author Yoshida Akiyo to write the script together this time. I don’t know if it was an additional condition proposed by Mr. Yoshida, or it was director Hirokazu Koreeda who wanted to be lazy.
A common theme in Hirokazu Kore-eda's work - the disappearance of a family member. For example, the eldest brother who keeps walking, the ex-husband in the phantom light, and the role of no one who knows his parents are all missing. The space vacated by this missing role has given other family members a channel for emotional flow. The director must have taken a fancy to Yoshida Akisheng's "Haijie diary" at first sight. He must be completely attracted by the re-flow of rigid family emotions caused by the absence of his father for 15 years. With a slap on the head, isn't this a script written for me? Pi Dian Dian went to Yoshida Qiusheng to buy the copyright.

Manga or movie

I watch the movie first and then the manga. Although I am a fan of Hirokazu-eda, I have to say that the movie is not in the slightest superior to the manga, and even some aspects of the manga are more ingenious than the movie.

Yoshida Akisheng and "Haijie diary"

The first time I saw the name Yoshida Akisheng was a comic magazine that I accidentally read when I was a child. The 50 most memorable comics of the 20th century voted by Japanese readers are reproduced above. It is no surprise that the top ten are basically familiar juvenile comics such as Dragon Ball, but "Banana fish" (alias: trembling) appeared unexpectedly in the top three. Murder) the words of the author Yoshida Akisheng.

Although it has not been popular in China, Yoshida Akiyo has always been a first-class cartoonist in Japan, and almost all his works have won awards, and works such as Yasha have been repeatedly put on the screen. But she is an alternative among shojo manga artists, and she has almost never drawn any works of love and love. And like Yamagishi Ryoko, Ogio Nozomi and other master-level authors, she often has an all-knowing, omnipotent, and eternally charming image of a young man. But they are deprived and abandoned by their original family. eventually to a tragic fate. This line of Yoshida always runs through a series of works by Yoshida Akiyo. Just like Yaxiu in "Banana fish" and Jing in "YASHA Yasha", then this image in the sea street is the young boy Tomozhang Fujii.

Tomozhang Fujii

's first appearance is not the sea street that began serialization in 2007. As early as 1995, just after the ten-year serialization of "Banana fish", Yoshida Akisheng entered a period of adjustment and launched the Different from his previous collection of short stories "The Lover's Kiss", through the youth, the girl's eyes use the pictures and language as clear as prose to depict a detached teenager like Tomizho Fujii, the indifferent moon in the background of the story, Satie The song, Shonan's coast, reveals an atmosphere that is both gentle and desolate. In "Haijie diary" Tomozho Fujii was once again opened as Pandora's box, and the teacher arranged a chapter for this role alone, called "Snake at the Bottom of the Flower".

"Flower Snake"

In the chapter of "Snake at the Bottom of the Flower", the opening chapter tells the story of the snake at the bottom of the flower through the mouth of the eldest sister--beautiful things often hide terrible things. This seems to imply that Tomosho Fujii, a beautiful young man hides this elusive past, but it is a metaphor for the four sisters, four flower-like girls with snakes coiling in their hearts. What haunts the eldest sister is the "importance of life". In high school, she had to act as a "surrogate mother", but this identity gave her the courage to live. Over time, she not only became a "surrogate mother" at home "Mum", she even worked as a nurse who took care of people in her career choice, and when she got along with her much older boyfriend, she was more like a mother. Most of the shots showed her cooking for her boyfriend. She even took the initiative to find her "new daughter" Ling. When the head nurse asked her if she wanted to work in hospice care, her boyfriend advised her to be cautious. Under the burden of her already struggling family, she finally accepted a new job. This is her The way of life, there is no way to refuse the "temptation of being a mother", but because of this, it is slow to be a real mother.
The second sister is the opposite of the eldest sister. After learning about her father's death at the beginning of the movie, she actually made a joke about a detective drama. It seems that it is easy to not care about herself, which seems very strange. After all, she was abandoned by her father. At this time, ordinary people are either indignant or sadly miss her. All the feelings of the second sister are isolated, and she does not feel pain between intimate relationships. In this story, only the eldest sister can express her dissatisfaction with her mother, and her grief and forgiveness to her father. The second sister is a person who only bears the lightness of life and cannot understand the weight of life. At the beginning of the comic, the third sister introduces the second sister and says that she was cheated by Niulang's ex-boyfriend of 1 million, but the second sister disagrees. She is deceived and betrayed by her ex-boyfriend , she has neither hatred nor love, because her feelings were isolated when she was a child, and she had neither hatred nor love, but when she broke up with Pengzhang, she said, "I can't remove the burden on him." Leaving tears of sadness, I felt the weight of life for the first time.
The snake shadow in the fourth sister's heart is her happy memory. The eldest sister, like Pengzhang, has never obtained a little happiness, so she simply gave up the pursuit of happiness and chose to give it completely. The second and third sisters have won the love of the surrogate mothers' grandmothers and eldest sisters. Only Simei is the only one who has obtained the complete love of her own parents, and this love was originally the source of her happiness. But in the face of the three sisters, there was a huge sense of betrayal. That's why she didn't dare to say that she had eaten sardine rice bowl. But Tomozho Fujii told her that his father had not been at home with women outside since he was a child, and that his mother also chose to cheat in revenge for her father. When he chose to commit suicide in the face of a hell-like lonely life since he was a child, Suzu must also feel guilty. On the other hand, she also recognized that Pengzhang, like her, was a person who abandoned her hometown in order to survive. I affirmed the confidence to live with my sisters.

I think Tomosho Fujii is one of the inspirations for Yoshida Akiyo's manga. After 12 years, the teacher re-arranges roles for the characters that appeared in his writings. It must be said that there are many emotions that he wants to express in this character. Fujii The parents did not die, instead the children chose to commit suicide, but the four sisters died due to the central father of the conflict, and the broken emotions flowed instead, both warm and ironic.

The shoujo manga artists include the Yamagishi Ryoko, Ogio Nozomi, and Yoshida Akiyo I mentioned above. Usually, the entry point of their works is often a soul that has been hurt and troubled by despair. This is also the pain-body of female artists. And this is obviously not where Hirokazu Kore-eda likes to perform. So it is Hirokazu Koreeda who should completely delete the role of Tomosho Fujii.
But in fact, this soy sauce character appears 4 times in the movie, which is only one less than in the comics (that is, the meeting with Ling), but the role played completely deviates from the original intention, just wastes the space, such as The date in the seaside hotel, the little boyfriend of the second sister in the movie is full of malicious speculation about the new fourth sister. In the comics, the same scene takes place earlier. It was the night before they went to the funeral. In this scene, through their dialogue, the second sister revealed her true thoughts about her father, and her image was also plump in this scene. Woke up. Tomozho Fujii said to the second sister's confusion, "If Kano's father doesn't have to worry, he is a very gentle person." This established the second sister's confidence in going to Sendai. This is a very important scene. But it is meaningless to be changed, it is better to delete it.
So when the eldest sister invited Suzu to live in Kamakura, she would agree. After all, she is a person who is afraid of trouble, how could she not have any ideological hesitation about her half-sister living at home? So paving is necessary. Nagasawa Masami played very hard and won the best supporting actress, but the image of the second sister was always a bit difficult to find. At first, she didn't want to see each other and agreed with a smile to bring home the sister she had only met once? ? I simply deleted all the scenes of my boyfriend Tomozho Fujii, and used other plot complements to create the image of the second sister.

But now, for example, in the process of walking, the characters' images are handled with a lot of cleverness, and the image of the mother becomes clear in one scene. The second son gives the mother pocket money, and the mother accepts it shyly, but when the son accepts When I came down and asked my mother not to let the little fat man come to the funeral, I heard almost cruel words.

The sensational scene in this film is that the sisters shouted at Yamashita one after another. To be honest, Ayase Haruka's acting skills are really good. But I somehow remembered that netizens had some vicious comments on "The Girl We Chased Together in Those Years", "Taiwanese movies can flash the following scene at any time: On a pouring rain night, a woman shouted hysterically to a man, you This big idiot..."
Compared with the prayer of the grandson in the yard at the end of the story, it is also the most emotional point of the whole film. The child said "I remember my father took me to catch the yellow butterfly" (and he said earlier that he forgot ) "Dad is a tuner, so I want to be a tuner too" (I said before that I like music teachers) "If I can't be a tuner, I'll be a doctor", this is a very sensational scene, marking the little grandson's death from death. He really came out of the pain of his father. Before, he denied the memory and feelings of his dead father, because he felt that he was strongly abandoned. Pain, for the first time allowed my nostalgia and sadness. However, adults are completely unaware of this transformation of children, which shows that adults' emotional difficulties are integrated with children's mastery. This kind of reincarnation-like feeling reminded me of the phantom light one by one. Although it is the only sensational piece of the film, both the lines and the performances of the young actors are still restrained. . After all, "Haijie diary" is a shoujo manga, but seeing it in Hirokazu Koreeda's film made it so direct, I was very disgusted. And the scene of Cherry Blossom Road, it's Director Zhi, can't you go back after you finish filming the Japanese drama?
In my mind, Hirokazu Koreeda should be someone who lay in bed in the morning, read the newspaper, carefully searched for the eight o'clock news, and then wrote the script outline, so please continue to do so. Forget the shoujo manga, at least don't invite the scriptwriter together next time.
