Maybe I'm too weird, but I really think this is one of the best Austin movies I've ever seen

I see a lot of complaints about the bad-looking protagonists in everyone's movie reviews... Are you sure? At least a few male protagonists are still eye-catching enough... And probably because of the conflict of aesthetics, I have always particularly liked the actress in the female protagonist. I saw her in the importance of being earnest before. When she appeared on the stage, it made people feel bright and aura. This movie is earlier, so I think she is more beautiful in this [blushing] Well, I really like her appearance, and I think when she smiles, she is very similar to Emma Watson.

Mansfield Manor is actually in Austen's novel One of the most suitable to be adapted into a screen work. I have seen three versions of Pride and Prejudice and two versions of Sense and Sensibility before, and I feel a little bored after watching too many... (especially the six episodes of the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice, although it is recognized that the casting is very successful, I always I can't stop watching it...how did such a simple story become so long...), and this Mansfield in 1999, I didn't get bored after watching it several times, and felt that every minute was full of drama Ah~!

And I think the 99th edition was adapted quite well. Because I think it is actually more in line with Austin's own spiritual temperament. There are a lot of witty scenes in the shot, which are very funny and full of irony. And all of this is not intentional, but inadvertently revealed in a lot of details, so it's pretty stand up to close scrutiny. For example, although the wife has always been the background board of the main character, all her actions and expressions are full of irony and look particularly funny.
The overall plot is quite full, basically full of drama. As a less patient reader (I'm the kind of person who is more comfortable with watching thrillers, I feel like falling asleep when the plot is short), this movie completely hooked me.
In addition, The big house and the countryside scenery are so beautiful~ I feel like I want to cut every frame.

The dancing part is better than the new Pride and Prejudice

Jane Austen's idealistic perspective, with the romantic ending of lovers who end up together. Compared to Northanger Abbey, becoming Jane, reason and emotion, Keira Knightley's Pride and Prejudice is my favorite. I happened to read the artificial intelligence and found out that this heroine is actually the same, and the curvature of the corners of the mouth is really charming when she smiles.

Mansfield Park quotes

  • [to Edmund Bertram as she is leaving to return home]

Fanny Price: I hope... I hope you know how much... how much I shall... write to you...

  • Fanny Price: And a woman's poverty is a slavery even more harsh than a man's.

Henry Crawford: Mm, arguable. But it need not be your lot. You can live out your days in comfort... with me.

    Fanny Price: I know.

    Henry Crawford: You do?

    Fanny Price: Yes.

Henry Crawford: Is that a yes?

    Fanny Price: Yes.

Henry Crawford: Is that the yes I have heard a hundred times in my heart but never from you? Oh, Fanny Price... You will learn to love me. Say it again.

    Fanny Price: Yes.
