"The Invisible Woman" (2013)
also known as: Dickens' Secret Love Story
There is a line I like very much
"Nelly? Nelly? Tell me a secret."
"What kind of secret?"
"Anything. Something that you've never told anyone or perhaps never even thought of telling.”
“My middle name is Lawless. Now your turn.”
“Hmm. Ellen Lawless Ternan. That is my secret.”
This is the first time Dickens is like a woman The Lord confessed that Dickens broke the world, divorced his wife he did not love, and then lived with his mistress, and the child he gave birth unfortunately died. For the sake of fame, he had to hide his mistress too. What kind of love would any woman want! If he wasn't Dickens, if he didn't have money, such a story wouldn't exist! Humans are still living for the outside, this will never change! Longer than diamonds!
When I saw Dickens's wife read the divorce statement in the newspaper, she only felt that the new man was laughing, but the old man was not crying! Sometimes, breaking the shackles of the world is not without a price!

The Invisible Woman quotes

  • Charles Dickens: A wonderful fact to reflect upon, that every human creature is a profound secret and mystery to every other.

Nelly: Until that secret is given to another to look after. And then perhaps two human creatures may know each other.

  • [first lines]

Mr. George Wharton Robinson: Our boys' curriculum is very wide. They perform a short play at the end of every term. Theater's an abiding interest of my wife... Ah, Mary, tea if you please.

    Mary: [arriving late] Yes, sir.

Mr. George Wharton Robinson: Through the open door... Nelly, where were you? Mr. Benham has been here since 3:00.

Nelly: I'm so sorry. Mr. Lambourne has been organizing the boys best he can.

Mary: I lost all sense of time...
