After watching the complete film, my body organs and physiological functions began to work intensely again. This is the most original and most reliable standard for evaluating a movie. Impressing the audience is always the first utility of a film.
For a good film, I usually pull out her background information to be satisfied. However, there is no search on Timeline. Could it be that Timeline is suddenly not authoritative? I was a little unwilling, so I looked at the title in front of the movie again. The English title is "The Full Monty (1997)". Only now did the information come out. Another translation is called "The Six Heroes of the Light Pig". Well, this translation is more apt.
This is a small-budget movie about life, made realistic and warm. The six men in the film come together due to the predicament of life, and each of them has a different character. These six men are very representative, representing men of all classes, ages, and family environments of that era. Male audiences can fully reflect their own shadows in the play. Because of special social reasons, they are all unemployed. They all need to address common inner issues: self-esteem, dignity, self-identity, self-actualization. They also need to solve their own external problems: raising issues, family issues, husband and wife issues, maintenance issues, etc. In a word, they all need money.
Not long after the movie started, the two male protagonists were trapped on the roof of a sinking car in the river after failing to steal. They built a bridge out of steel plates, and as soon as the male protagonist's son crossed the bridge, the steel plates fell into the river. The male protagonist, Gass, reprimanded his son, who was very wronged and left without looking back. At this time, a man came across the river and greeted Gass like an acquaintance, but Gass said I was fine. It can be seen that they are used to doing this business. The plot is humorous and symbolic. The son did not agree with his father's theft, and the steel falling into the river showed that this old road was no longer viable. Guss and Dave are stuck on the roof of the car, implying that they are both in the same predicament of life, either make a change or sink to the bottom of the river. The acquaintances who came across the river could help them save them, but Gass insisted that he was fine and didn't need help from others. In the end, they were still wet, and they crossed the river of trouble.
While they were wet, they also indicated that they had made changes. Guss discovered another way to make a fortune by undressing. This is where the fun of the movie begins.
In that particular setting, women were the backbone of society and the family, in stark contrast to society as we know it. If a man wants to make a lot of money from a woman, he has to get wet. This poses a huge challenge to men's self-esteem and self-identity.

Another interesting male protagonist is Gass and Dave's former boss, Gerald. She insisted, and in the end, all the valuable things in the house were taken away by others to pay off the debt.
The other three protagonists have relatively few roles, but all have good performances. Among them, the black protagonist, who is a lot older, is rehearsing jumping and undressing in front of his granddaughter. What a courage and feat! The plot of the whole film is moderate, there are crises, and there are turning points. The emotional scene between the protagonist Gass and his son is more in-depth and convincing. In the end, the six protagonists passed their "ordeals", finally bravely accepted the reality, faced themselves calmly, tore off their last fig leaf, and were reborn.
Everyone's definition of a fig leaf may be different, but others may not think so. The frankness below the fig leaf may be more recognized and applauded by others.
