A fable about a new world

Sense8 is clearly an allegory about a new world. This new world is all about the internet.

Many viewers may think that Sense8's superpowers are not superpowers, and their imaginations are far worse than Black Mirror. But I think that's exactly what the show is about.

Yes, as you might have guessed, the Sense8's super-sense capabilities provide a very simple metaphor: the Internet. It uses the magic of images to romantically interconnect multiple people, and under the packaging of superpowers, this setting looks extraordinary. In fact, let's think about it carefully. Haven't all the superpowers possessed by these protagonists already been achieved by our Internet today? We program while searching for Q&A on stackoverflow (the protagonists share skills); we listen to the same song together on youtube (multiplayer bgm in the play); we express our feelings on social media and leave messages to each other (the protagonists in the play) their mutual comfort)...

if you get that, I'm sure rewatching the end of episode 4, when all of them listen to What's up, you'll feel more empathy. This is a whole new kind of friendship. All people in this world are in different places, and over time, it seems that their own stories are happening (I believe this is what the title of the show is trying to create). In the past, there was no connection between villages and villages, and your life radius was only your relatives and friends around you. You are largely constrained by geography to find confidants and comrades in your life. In this new world, those restrictions are loosened, and people from anywhere have the opportunity to come together and fight side by side to help each other resist their respective enemies. (There is actually a common enemy in this show: Doctor. I won't start too much about this character here, but have you been smart enough to think that in the last episode, you can have a super sense (Internet) The ever-surveilling doctor may be a metaphor for some state power.)

What must go down in history is the part where the Indian woman fainted at the wedding. That wedding vow was a complete pun! Let me help you recall the scene. On one side is an extremely traditional Indian wedding, singing and dancing are peaceful, the bride and groom are exchanging vows, promising to share their feelings, joy, share everything with each other after marriage, although we know that Indian women have long realized that they do not love the groom. . On the other side, there are interspersed and edited pictures of the other seven protagonists in different corners of the world! The meaning is obvious, on the surface it seems that it is just a personal betrayal of the marriage by an Indian woman after seeing a certain body part of a German man, but in fact this alludes to the traditional (local) will be abandoned in the supersensory new world , a new universal law of sharing (you can share everything with like-minded people in any different corner of the world) will be established.

There are some friends who see the show as just focusing on sex, which I thought might have underestimated the director's ambitions. In fact, think about it, is the legalization movement of homosexuality spreading around the world in recent years also related to our supersensory ability (the Internet)? When heterosexuals can sense what homosexuals feel, all obstacles should be gone. Just like in the play, the American policeman who is a straight man was given by a Mexican actor in a super sense. Presumably everyone has seen comments on various social networks such as "As a straight man, I have been bent over", comments on certain pictures or stories...

The last metaphor is obvious . The eight protagonists left on Noah's Ark belonging to this era, and a brand new world was unfolding for them. Seeing this, as the audience, we have a super sense of the protagonists on the screen: isn't this the situation of the era we live in now outside the screen?

In the end, I must recommend to everyone that the perfect way to watch this show is to watch it with everyone on station A, because that is sense8 that belongs to all our audiences.

The first and last episodes are more exciting, and there is nothing in the middle part. The stories of several people are basically boring and slow. According to the situation of the entire first season, even if the number of episodes doubles in the second season, there will not be much progress. The characters are very fresh and the story structure is great, but the plot is too bad. I like the story of two gay couples, Pei Douna and the German guy. I feel that all the plots of Icelandic girls are superfluous.
