"On the edge of death you feel more alive"

Why does Philippe consider his own unique way of walking the tightrope a kind of aerial poetics? Because it is necessary to be infinitely close to the edge of danger, in exchange for the ultimate pleasure of success, as long as there is a difference between the millimeters, you will be dead without a place to be buried.
In recent years, many young people have also challenged the extreme photography. But the number of times is more than that, and the creation has become a reminder. Presumably they didn't think deeply about the support behind it. This is not a gamble. It is too heavy to gamble with life. Philippe won not because he was daring, but because he was daring.
You have to admire Philippe, a man who is always pushing the limits. He has survived more than 80 times in his life. The only time he missed was when he fell from a height of 14 meters in early training and broke a few ribs. He said, never again, it really never happened again. At 53, he also claimed to be on the Ridge Peak. Now we are approaching the 70th birthday.
I deeply feel that in addition to luck (bird attack, wire breaking, just before the storm, etc.), guts, grit, focus, talent, practice, preparation, teamwork, and insane persistence are all necessary.
His greatness and madness are not that he has his feet inserted, the time is not enough, the group members are shrinking, and he will walk hard no matter what; Going again and again! A total of 8 back and forth! Stayed for 45 minutes, and jumped, got down on one knee and both knees, let go, and even lay on the thin line of the sky (little dragon girl~).
As I watched it, I gritted my teeth and thought he was a lunatic! Of course, there are many parts in the film that make you laugh and cry. There is really only a thin line between a lunatic and a genius!
To be honest, I like the hero Jon Joseph, and I like the story of this man's pursuit of his dreams, which makes most of the salted fish feel ashamed, but there are still many shortcomings in the film. Including downplaying the hard work of the male protagonist, it seems that an ordinary person finds a few rabble by chance and overcomes difficulties in a short period of time to complete the creation, which is a bit too easy. But in reality, the male protagonist used a lot of manpower and material resources to prepare for 5 years, and he also took a helicopter to investigate.
In addition, it beautifies the male protagonist, explaining the reason why his character/behavior caused friends and girlfriends to leave is that they suddenly decided to go back to China to pursue their dreams. The support and dedication of the heroine in the movie makes this second face change seem unconvincing. Then, for the sake of many scene characters that seem to be more interesting, the ink on the main line is reduced. I don’t know if the time is limited. Anyway, the ability of the film to outline the structure is questionable.
As far as entertainment is concerned, of course I prefer "Peter Pan", but other people dare to devote most of their lives to poems written on the cusp of death Not to each other?

Perhaps because expectations were too high, he felt that he was not enough for an inspiring biographical film, more like an elegy to the Twin Towers of New York when ISIS was raging.

Seeing Phillipe kneeling down on the steel cable was instantly knocked down by a sudden sense of sacredness, tears fell down, and the close-up of the twin towers at the end brought sadness even more unspeakable. Must see IMAX 3D

The Walk quotes

  • News Reporter: Why did you do this?

Philippe Petit: There is no "why." Just because. When I see a beautiful place to put my wire, I cannot resist.

News Reporter: [narrating] The story of my adventure was in the news all over the world. In France, when Papa Rudy heard of it, he was the happiest Papa Rudy in the world. And when Papa Rudy's angry, he's deadly angry. But when Papa Rudy's happy, his dogs get a double ration of food.

  • Jean-Pierre: You know Philippe, the Towers seem different. They're different now.

Barry Greenhouse: That's right. They're different because you walked up there. Every New Yorker I talk to now says they love these towers.

Annie: [looking up at the towers] Perhaps you brought them to life, Philippe - given them a soul.
