'Peter Pan: A Dream': An adaptation of a broken childhood

Before I write about my feelings after watching the film, I would like to state that this film, which is based on the British writer James Matthew Barley's screenplay and novel "Peter Pan", is entirely borrowed from this film. The popularity of this famous literary work is nothing more than a hype. In fact, it has nothing to do with the original book. It just uses the name of Peter Pan, but even the meaning of the name has changed.

Like The Little Prince, I walked into the movie theater with high expectations, but I had an ominous premonition as soon as the film opened. Peter Pan was directly designated as an orphan, an orphan who was abandoned at the gate of the orphanage. The necklace left by his mother should be an important clue to solve the mystery of his life experience. The storyline after that is that Peter Pan was caught on the island by the pirates of Neverland. The leader Blackbeard pirate was a wicked man who captured countless children to dig a kind of fairy stone in order to maintain his eternal life, and discovered that Peter Pan could fly by accident. Then led to a series of stories about his mother. With the help of Captain Hook, Peter Pan found the Indian tribe, and together with Princess Hulian, he found the elf tribe, where he bravely defeated the blackbeard pirates and let the dream come true. The island regains its joy...the end.

I can only call this film "Peter Pan: The Dreaming Sail", an authentic American-style personal hero's salvation-like mother-hunting adventure. It is a brand new one and has nothing to do with the famous book "Peter Pan" Yes, not so lively and interesting movies. I don't want to link the film to the original book and discuss what weaknesses the film had in the adaptation process, what emotions were not handled properly, because the two are not related. I think anyone who has read the original will feel that way, it's really unbearable without Wendy's and Hooker's work as a good person. So next, I'm going to talk about this movie alone, and the eternal dream of "Peter Pan" in my heart.

"Peter Pan: The Dream Set Sail"

1. There is nothing new in the whole story structure. Finding the mother, exploring, and saving the world, the three routines are too old-fashioned. If I hadn't always linked them to the original work, I think I would have known what the ending was just after reading the beginning. I think the biggest failure of a movie is that there is no single scene that can be remembered. This is the case, the plot is boring, the plot is cliché and boring, I even watched the whole movie a little angry.

2. The character creation is not interesting at all. If this movie is positioned for children to watch, then I think the villain characters in it are a bit too abhorrent, and even an adult like me is extremely disgusted by it. Shouldn't the character creation be a little more interesting and cute? The dean of the orphanage stood on top of the basement in the night of the artillery fire, baring a broken and blackened tooth, and even my heart clenched a bit. And the Blackbeard Pirate, who would have been Hugh Jackman if I hadn't read the cast ahead of time, and the heavy makeup had changed his appearance. Some people will say that this is what the plot needs, but why is Johnny Depp in "Alice in Wonderland" so cute, and the same heavy makeup looks more interesting.

3, the picture is very poor. I wanted to rush out of the movie theater when the fantasy wonderland I had drawn countless times in my mind - Neverland appeared. It turned out to be a dirty and terrible pit, and I controlled myself countless times not to contact the original. Whether it's Neverland, or the Indian tribe, or the last elf tribe, it doesn't create a dreamlike feeling at all, and the pirate ship runs through the whole movie, but I think it's really a scary thread. Even when Peter Pan took the helm of the pirate ship at the end, I was still terrified.

It was a completely unpleasant viewing experience. After the movie, I found it was raining heavily outside, and the cold air made my heart even colder. In the name of adaptation, I was responsible, but it ruined countless beautiful childhood fantasies in nearly two hours and shattered the ground.

The fairy tale book "Peter Pan"

is not as esoteric as "The Little Prince", but it gives us countless happy and innocent fantasies but makes us have a sweet and happy dream in childhood, carefree. Peter Pan is a child who will never grow up. He taught Wendy to fly, fly to Neverland together, and live a free and happy life. There Wendy learned the meaning of growing up through various adventures and learned to love. Wendy eventually returned home with her two younger brothers, while Peter Pan was still enjoying his childhood in Neverland. Although this is a fictional fantasy created by the author, when we were young, we felt that it was real, and we looked forward to Peter Pan appearing in front of my window one day, teaching me to fly, and taking me to Neverland.

As a kid, I didn't understand why Wendy left Neverland, if it were me, I'd stay there forever. How free and happy. But now, as I grow up, I finally understand that Neverland is only for children. It's impossible for everyone to never grow up, we're not Peter Pan, we're just Wendy, who will gradually lose their imagination, gradually become distracted by the world, and leave the once dreamy childhood. But at least, there is a Peter Pan in each of us, who keeps all our beautiful fantasies, remembers all our stories, and tells us when we want to hear them.

If you have the same emotions, looking forward to Peter Pan in childhood and nostalgic Peter Pan in adulthood, then this movie is not to be seen. Why don't you go and see "Peter Pan" directed by P.J. Hogan in 2003. This movie is faithful to the original book. Although there are new interpretations, the interpretation is not bad.
