Double Lawrence

I'm a movie nerd and a fake book nerd, and if I'm given some free time, I'll definitely consider movie first. Because of the figurative artistic appeal and the visually striking colors, I think that's why I follow Dolan.
Through the same-sex theme, the family relationship between mother and child ("I Killed My Mom") and the friendship between friends ("Fantasy Love") were discussed. This time our little prince of literature and art, Dolan, turned to transgender people from marginal groups, and continued in His "Impossible Love" path has carved out an avenue. However, as a bean friend said - Dolan's gay identity is the source of his inspiration, and it is also the limitation of his creation. Once he no longer breaks through this labelled self-identification, the aesthetics of some audiences may become fatigued or even tired. But then again, after all, he is a young man in his twenties now, and he will have a lot of room for development in the future, looking forward to this rising star in the directorship.
To be honest, this movie is not my cup of tea, it's just epic in length, and I felt tormented to watch it in two parts. Dolan once again combines editing, costumes, screenwriting and directing, so some people joke that he can cross over to do fashion design and interior design. The narcissistic little public act is difficult to choose, which leads to the whole film being slightly fragmented, and the tension of the outbreak is not enough (but people have the capital of narcissism). However, this work does have some bright spots that attract our attention. First of all, the director explores the entry point of transgender people. In the play, the hero Laurence longs to become a woman. He thinks that his soul as a woman is trapped in a man's body. This is not to say that he likes men in his heart, that love is not antithetical to sex. Skip slow motion (everyone knows that slow motion is too iconic), some bold artistic innovations constitute the amazing picture language, such as the female protagonist's heartbeat after reading the male protagonist's new book, like a falling waterfall It was knocked down with a bang, and then the line of defense fell apart and collapsed. There are also scenes of colorful clothes in the sky, a form of expression that integrates with the mood, exaggerated without losing the truth, and a bit of intriguing banter in the ethereal. I like the ending part of "If life is just like the first time", the male protagonist gave the female protagonist a handmade butterfly and successfully struck up a conversation. At that time, he was still a man, and she hadn't dyed red hair yet. The setting of this plot made me instantly figure out the scene of the male protagonist "spitting butterflies". He doesn't want to be imprisoned by gender, he wants to achieve freedom, so he chooses to make a clean break with the butterfly, which is like a token of love. The most hurtful thing in the world is not the loss of love between lovers, but the fact that two people clearly love each other but cannot be together, the heroine repeats that person's game with her children after establishing her own new family, still relying on the dumped clothes If you want to hide it, use a short pause to recall the past.
The writer's words have a kind of detached ethereal spirit - the four seasons fall from the branches, and her back is against the quiet peach bark. Hope was hurt in the house where she lived, and our past lay outside the door like a wounded puppy. Even the whitest wall can't stop the blooming of a rose. Especially the last sentence, I just do my best to paint a tile outside your house, sighing at this different kind of romance and forbearance throbbing.
Let's talk about the role again. The reason why I am familiar with the male protagonist is that he played the second brother of the girl in "The Lover", and his women's clothes are very beautiful and amazing. As for the heroine, she is the teacher in "I Killed My Mother", and the heroines and sisters are the heroines of "Fantasy Love". Dare and affection are for the royal family!

Laurence Anyways quotes

  • Fred Bellair: You have crossed the borders of my life, of my town, of my street. All that's left is my front door. I think you know where to find me.

  • Journaliste: What are you looking for Laurence Alia?

Laurence Alia: I'm looking for a person, who understands my language and speaks it. A person who, without being a pariah, will question not only the rights and the value of the marginalized, but also those of the people who claim to be normal.
