"To live would be an awfully big adventure." To live, to love, is life's greatest adventure.

I haven't seen the 2003 movie until today. When I watched the movie, I didn't read Peter Pan's original book, and I didn't feel anything wrong. When I read the original book later, I really felt that the themes of the two were different.

So in my opinion, the plot of this adaptation of the film is more like an innocent story full of adventurous spirits of two little ones who learn to grow and love.
Of course, it's not the only one. Many lines in this movie are full of deep meaning and sadness.

All the children grow up, expect one.

Unlike all love fairy tales, Peter Pan is not Prince Charming, he is just a happy wild child. He is more like an angel who sometimes lingers in the world, carefree. He may also be lonely when he is young, and attracted by Wendy's story, Peter descends to her window and leads Wendy on an adventure to a magical country.

Peter: "Forget them, Wendy, Forget them all. Come with me, where you'll never, never have to worry about grown-up things again."

Wendy: "Never is an awfully long time."

But every ordinary Girls, like Wendy, are attracted to Peter Pan in their lives, fall in love with him, and expect his love.
The hidden kiss it is for the one the kiss belongs to.
It is for the greatest adventure of all.

They peek at the elf dancing, and Peter's shy look is no doubt that he is attracted to Wendy as well.
They danced in the moonlight, as beautiful as a dream.
Peter: "Is it only make-believe, isn't it ?" Is all goodness fictional?
Wendy: "Peter, What's your feelings?" Wendy wonders if he feels the same as she does.

Wendy: ”Love?”
Peter: “Love? I have never heard of it.”
Wendy: ”I think you have, Peter. I daresay you've felt it yourself...for something or... someone?"
Peter : "Never!"
But unfortunately, Peter felt love, but he didn't understand love, he didn't know that the emotion that made him panic was called love.
So he chased her away fiercely: "Go home ! Go home and grow up! Take your feelings with you."
Peter Pan is a proud little boy, he always denied: "I wasn't crying! " "I was not asleep !"

Peter: "I want always to be a boy and have fun." Peter didn't want to go to school, work, and be a person in the world.
Wendy: ”You say so, but I think it is your biggest pretend.”

Wendy: “Sir, you are both ungallant and deficient!”
Peter: “How am I deficient?”
Wendy: "You're just a boy."

According to the story, it is only when you grow up that you have the ability to love.
And growing up means leaving Neverland, obeying the rules of adult survival, and experiencing birth, old age, sickness and death.

TinkerBell, who had been following Peter all the time, later died trying to save him. Peter cried out in grief
: "I am sorry! I am so sorry. Please come back. Please don't leave me!"
Peter, who used to have no sorrow, finally realized to the pain of loss.

Perhaps, the pain of growing up is all kinds of helplessness and loss in the adult world in the future.

At the first meeting, she said, "I should like to give you a Kiss."
"This belongs to you, and always will." Wendy gave Peter her innocent kiss.
That was no thimble, That was her hidden kiss, a powerful thing.

In the movie Peter Pan is saved by the kiss of true love, Peter's happiness is inspired by love, he has the power to fly again and defeats Captain Hook.

Finally, did Peter Pan know how to love?
Why did Wendy leave after kissing him?

Although Peter doesn't understand love, he undoubtedly has feelings for her.
Wendy said to leave, Peter said lonely: "If you wish it."
Peter did not want Wendy to leave.
Peter wanted to close the window of Wendy's house (doesn't want her to go home), but saw Wendy's parents waiting by the window, and he whispered, "We can't both have her, lady."
Wendy, though longing for Neverland everything, but she is still a little girl after all, she will be homesick and afraid of forgetting her parents who love her dearly. She still has to grow up, because growth in life is inevitable.
And Peter couldn't stop it.

I don't want you to leave, but if you must be, I will let go.

Peter Pan had countless joys…That other children can never know, but he was looking at the one joy from which he must be forever barred.
In In the original work, Peter, who grew up in NeverLand, could never experience the greatest emotion in the world, neither the sadness of love nor the happiness of love.

"There are many different kinds of bravery. There's the bravery of thinking of others before one's self."
Growing up means responsibility, bravely meeting all kinds of challenges in life, and the spirit of sacrifice for loved ones.

"To live would be an awfully big adventure."
To live, to love, is life's greatest adventure.

Jeremy, the actor of Peter Pan, is smart and agile. It would not be a pity if Peter Pan and Wendy returned to the real world and eventually grew up to become Jeremy.
It is worth mentioning that Jeremy tattooed the line: "To die would be an awfully adventure." It is said that it is a couple tattoo, that is, Rachel has a similar tattoo on his body.
I found some information about them. It is said that the actors of Peter Pan and Wendy have been in a relationship for two years, but they could not continue due to the separation between the two places, and they just became friends in the end.
Nevertheless, I believe that for them, this movie is also a good memory between them.

Wendy believes in Peter Pan and shares his stories with her brothers every night. When Wendy and Peter meet for the first time, she begins to care about him too. Romantic feelings between them are hinted at, but never articulated. In the 2003 film, the feeling is mutual and Wendy shows her love when she gives Peter a hidden kiss in order to save him from Captain Hook.
