Frankenstein is based on Burton's 1984 short film of the same name and is the first Disney animation that Burton co-produced.
The film is shot in black and white, and will be converted into 3D in the later stage. In order to match the plot, more than 200 puppets and props will be produced.
Little boy Victor is devastated after his dog, Sparky, was killed by a car. In school, he got the inspiration to save his puppy when the teacher experimented with electrocuting frogs to make their nerves twitch. So at night, he drew the thunder and lightning from the sky to shock the puppy's corpse and bring it back to life. The reborn puppy terrifies the boy's neighbors, who see the dog as a monster. Neighbors chased the dog and cornered the dog and the boy into a cabin and nearly burned them to death. But the puppy rescued the boy and died. The neighbors and the boy's parents were moved and determined to revive it again. They used the car engine to make electricity and once again saved the dog...
