Iranian children's films emerge suddenly in the international film industry?

Foreword: Little Shoes is the first children's movie many people watch. After watching it, we were deeply touched by the clear eyes of Wan Ali and his sister and the scene where the brothers and sisters frequently exchanged shoes and ran to class. After that, in order to read the movie review, I brushed a series of movie reviews. I found many such questions, with similar content: why can Iranian children's films be made so well, and when can Chinese films be made like this? So, I wrote this article, on the one hand, to objectively tell why Iranian children's films are so well made. On the other hand, I also want to cry out a little bit of grievance for Chinese children. The history of Iranian

cinema The beginning of Iranian cinema can generally be tentatively dated to after the October Revolution in Russia, that is, around 1917.
After that, Iranian films were in a stage of constant exploration. Tried to make a lot of movies. The real booming period of Iranian cinema was during the Pahlavi Dynasty, when the king had close contacts with the United States, and Westernization was obvious (for example, at that time, princesses could wear Western-style high-end dresses to attend various public occasions). It can be imagined how huge the influence of the strong input of Western ideas on Iranian films at that time was. In the 1960s and 1970s, various musical films were popular, and a large number of pornographic films with Western music, ideas, and sexual content continued to appear. So, there was an era in Iran where you could see people on the street wearing jackets and shoes, and there was a beautiful woman beside them.
The "1979" Iranian Revolution brought about a complete change in cinema. As the Muslim leaders headed by Khomeini came to power, in Iranian society, all political, economic, and cultural fields have imposed corresponding strict restrictions. As the Shiites headed by Khomeini emphasized the role of restoring traditional Shiite ideology, they fought against all hegemony and colonialism on the one hand, and on the other hand held high the banner of the Islamic revolution and exported the revolution to the outside world. The slogan "Don't want the East, don't want the West" is also constantly being launched in the film industry. At that time, a large number of filmmakers had only two ways out, one was to go abroad, and the other was to find another way out and shoot subjects "suitable for national conditions". At this time, let's mention by the way that Sohrab Shahid Saless, director of Iran's earliest children's film "A Simple EVent", was shooting this film, which was not very well received at the end. There is such a scene: the child knocked on the doctor's door and asked the doctor Treat your mother. After the doctor's diagnosis, the mother was pronounced dead. The father stood beside him at a loss, and the son was leaning against the wall, his eyes clear but full of sadness. At that time, when all the directors in Iran felt that there was no film to make, they learned from this film. As the big cousin said, black and white and gray can't go wrong. Iranian children's films of innocent children, frail mothers, and pious fathers have become almost a fixed pattern. Although there are women's themes or war-related themes behind, but children still occupy a large number of Iranian films.
Politics is not allowed, and Iran’s film review system is strict: Western films are not allowed, pornography and sexual innuendo images are not allowed, capitalism is not allowed, and content that slanders Muslims is not allowed. It can be said that Iranian films can only be shot with children’s films as the starting point. The directors of a country focus on one direction. First of all, the quality and quantity of the films will be improved. Secondly, there is only one type of film in a country. Cinema and Iranian cinema can almost become an equivalent term. So to a certain extent, we can say that it’s not that Iranian children’s films are very well made, and we can also focus on another saying that we actually only know about Iranian children’s films, because there are almost very few other films.
The current Iranian film requirements have been relaxed, but in essence they are still following the path of the "1979 Revolution", with strict screenings and children's films being the mainstream.
Here I would like to recommend a history of Iranian films (the French film is pretty good, but there are no subtitles, if you want seeds, just chat with me privately), and then list some other types of Iranian films, you can watch
children's films: White Balloons, Flying Turtles, Colors of the Sky, Women
's Film: I grew up in Iran, Bride of the Sea
I haven't seen it yet, so I really want to watch it. If you have the resources, you are welcome to poke me privately, personal communication)

Chinese children's films
The Chinese children's film market has gradually moved towards a commercialized state in recent years, which means that more and more children's films are in the market. More commercial nature emerges. And Chinese children's films, we can actually call them childish films, because their target audience is children. In fact, a large part of the audience of Iranian children's films is positioned at adults.
In other words, apart from watching naive children's films such as Peach Blossom Vs. Chrysanthemum Monster and Hollywood animation blockbusters, most people have never seen so-called children's films when they are adults. It's that we haven't seen it, it's not that we haven't. I still remember the grasshoppers I used to watch in junior high and high school, going to school with my mother on my back, invisible wings... all like this. The same is true of children's films at that time, and when we watched it, we cried too much. Either the family is poor or the parents are missing, and the children are also self-improving. Therefore, there are children's films in China, and I think they are well done.
My point of view, welcome criticism, accept humbly

Children of Heaven quotes

  • Ali: Zahra, I have good news.

    Zahra: What news?

Ali: I am selected for the race.

    Zahra: What race?

Ali: Long-Distance Running. The third-best runner gets a pair of new sneakers.

    Zahra: Why the third?

Ali: The First and Second prizes are something else. If I come in third, I'll give you the sneakers.

Zahra: But those shoes are for boys.

Ali: I'll exchange them. I'll get a pair of girl's shoes for you.

Zahra: What if you don't come in third?

Ali: I'll be third for sure.
