This film tells the story of Aunt Zhu, who suffered from early Alzheimer's disease at the age of fifty, adjusted herself in a limited time, and welcomed complete amnesia and loss with the most natural state of mind. Such a simple story of the day of language organization. In the process, she encouraged many people with the same illness, repaired the relationship with her younger daughter and watched her performances, and welcomed the birth of her eldest daughter, the twins, and held the child in her arms and stared carefully. If she wasn't sick, there's a good chance she wouldn't do or delay doing these things because she was busy teaching.
I originally wanted to use this film to learn about the pension mechanism in the United States, but since Aunt Zhu is a high-level intellectual and enjoys high-level pension services, she is only an example and not representative. But one thing is certain, that is, Americans have a good tolerance for this rare disease.
In our country, Alzheimer's often appears in people's mouths to scold people, but I didn't see such a phenomenon in this film. On the contrary, wherever Aunt Zhu went, everyone encouraged her and thanked her for her speech.
Even if it is a family, in our country, the situation of "no dutiful children before the bed for a long time" is prone to occur, especially when there are multiple children to take care of, disputes will arise due to the uneven scheduling of time. In this film, the gentle and generous husband is always by his side. Even if his lover's chaotic eyes have lost their former lustre, he can still capture her agile and smart appearance. The three children also try to make time for Aunt Zhu, although she often does not recognize them.
At the end of the film, the youngest daughter recites "Angels in America" to Aunt Zhu. Those words that are extremely holy in the eyes of Americans can no longer evoke Aunt Zhu's memory, and she can't organize normal sentences to express her thoughts, but she The heart still gives the most instinctive feedback - love. The younger daughter was moved to hug Aunt Zhu, as if she was holding her own who was about to grow old. She carried her mother's dominant gene and was diagnosed with Alzheimer's positive.
Therefore, what this film wants to express is love and memory. Even when the disease developed to the most serious, Aunt Zhu was still indispensable. Memories will be lost, but love will live on and she will always be part of this family.

There are three actors who can be called "acting" in this film, Aunt Zhu is one of them, the other two are Alec Baldwin who plays the husband, and Kristin Stewart who plays the second daughter. Baldwin is good at acting in comedies, and the way of acting has always been exaggerated, but in this film it has become completely life-like, showing the image of a heavy and responsible husband, while Kristen Stewart has completely transformed from an idol into an actor. , although not very brilliant, but there is clearly content in his words and deeds. The interpretation of these two characters is very meticulous. There are several details that make me feel that they are not acting but actually living in the film, and the one who makes me feel this way the most is Aunt Zhu. Aunt Zhu's presentation of her symptoms reminds me of Kate Winslet in The Reader, and I think the two are on par in terms of acting. Oscar felt the same way, so he gave Aunt Zhu a golden statue.
So although the content of this film is not dramatic, it is also worth watching for the wonderful performances of the three leading actors, just like "The Kramers" back then.
